    Balmung has been closed for over a year. For good reason. People can make characters on other servers and travel here if they want in on the Uldah Quicksands RP scene. Balmung already has a super competitive marketboard, plenty of b0ts, and ruthless RNG on Housing due to the crowds. IF you want a good deal as a crafter, possibly a future house - Make a character on any other server than Balmung. Dynamis is the future but might take a while to get there.

    Yeah but people like to join FC's with their friends and if your friends are RPer on Balmung, world travel or not you can't join the FC. Kind of the situation I've been stuck in for almost a year. I really thought with 7.0 I'd get the opportunity to make a character over there at least, so it's pretty disappointing that I can't still.

    Cross-World link shells are the only way forward, surely nobody would put RPing behind FC membership...

    There are actually quite a lot of Balmung RP FCs that are locked behind FC membership. There are some that are more open and do their planning through Discord and etc., but a majority I found when I was looking were exclusive to FC members.

    Unfortunately, this is not true. DC travel has been closed since the early congestion of Dawntrail, only briefly opening up during off-peak hours.
