    Just switched to Win11 and now borderless window is doing some cursed stuff




    Whatever part of the screen it would cover in windowed mode will look fine and normal; everything outside that area has everything but the UI partially transparent for some reason and it's even more disorienting than it looks. Never seen anything like this before and updating my drivers did not fix it so I'm like. baffled

    Tested borderless windowed mode in some other games thinking maybe it's just my card that doesn't like it but it seems like it's just FFXIV doing this. Can kind of get around the issue by making the windowed resolution cover as much of the screen as possible but there's still gonna be the title bar and border areas left translucent so I'd really like to figure out what's going on and fix it

    I just switched over to Win11 as well and quickly went to fullscreen mode and turned on "Optimization for windowed games". While still a bit janky here and there with dual displays (once in a while the game jumps into a window for a split second while changing focus, task switching is instant vs old fullscreen and vsync seems fixed. Overall performance is better too.

    The windowed optimization setting seems to have fixed it!
