It's time: Hrothgar posture setting

That happens with almost every race, especially Miqo'te, Viera and Roes. Only reason you don't get that much as a Hyur is because Hyur look like uncanny stiff dolls and most people aren't attracted to them the same way. And Elezen have always been mocked for their weird anatomy.

I have played every race in this game in some capacity, and I have never gotten what I got with Hrothgar. Sure when I was a Miqo'te I tended to get random people coming up to me or when I was a Roe people would emote at me etc, but never in my like 20+ years of playing mmos have I ever had as much nsfw stuff whispered to me in such a short period of time because of my race in game as a Hrothgar. Not even close.

Also it happens to almost every race isn't a good enough reason. It's messed up.

A choice for posture would be neat! I don't have a problem with hrothgar dudes hunching over (it's unique!), but at the same time I am a huge fan of the FFX ronso and any elements from that design is more than welcome.

When they first came out, I made one because they look cool. Well, shortly after I did, I started getting messages of the nsfw variety. So I just blocked the people and moved on with my life, but it kept happening. Eventually, I changed back because of it. I still think they look cool despite all of it, but it's not something I want to deal with.

Ugh, that sounds awful; I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. Maybe in the next expac when they introduce the ability to blacklist words you'll be able to safely be a lion man without any of the street harassment?

PSA: Hrothgar aren't Ronso! They're furry Roegadyn. If they had used Elezen skeleton but made them bulkier it would have been perfect!

Agree. In WoW, I played a male troll race, which had a permanent hunch, making it near impossible to see front armor designs, (which I never looked at anyway .
However, in one patch, they gave the male trolls a silly, prancing run animation that I couldn't stand. Female trolls stood and ran straight, and it cost less to change genders than races, so I switched. I wish we could get rid of the wide legged stance the males have. One fun thing in WoW was a potion that let you switch genders for an hour, so you could see how the other side looks in your gear.

No, keep your hunched over posture to assert dominance over smaller races by showing you don't need to stand up straight to tower over them



I'm joking, Hrothgar posture is so, so freaking bad, it causes the walk and run to look extremely stiff. Doubt they'll do anything but a man can dream.

Agree and adding my support here to let Hrothgars posture to be straight for various actions. Please make it a toggle.

The female Hrothgar having a straight posture with their running animation look very fluid. It contrasts really badly for the male Hrothgar version who looks like they have extremely bad backpain. The Dawntrail benchmark and various emotes/job poses and animations showed Hrothgar can stand straight up without any issues and look really good while doing so. I want to see Dawntrail give male Hrothgar a toggle to remove the hunchback in their various movements and not only when Hrothgar stop and pose.

From the start, unfortunately, i wasn't even suprised
Almost every time there is a "beast" or "montruous" race in an MMO, you can be sure the male counterpart has back problems compared to the female one, for absolutely no logical reasons

the few exceptions i have seen were the worgen in WoW, capable to run on all four and be it's one own mount, which fit the character and validated his pose
And my favourite, the Chaar in GW2 who automatically runs on all four when their weapon is sheathed (Also bonus point, Male and Female counterpart have both a hunched back, smart devs)

But here, there is really nothing or at least not much that confirms the idea of the "beast" in their movements, it just feels weird

So as many have asked before, hoping they will add a toggle option later on, one can hope.
(because even tought i don't like those "back issues" i wouldn't want to take it away from people who like it, that would be a really bad idea, so if ever the straight backs should be implemented, toggle it is!)
