    It's time: Hrothgar posture setting

Now that we're getting Female Hrothgar and hopefully soon after, the end of our struggle with headgears/hairstyles, it would be wonderful to get an option to have a posture setting for male Hrothgar (apparently Female Hrothgar don't suffer this) to have a straight back or the default hunchback.

Hrothgar was based on Ronso from FFX and *shock* most Ronso have excellent posture and looks A+.
I do understand that this was an artistic decision (that I believe most Hrothgar players would agree with me) did not mesh well with FFXIV systems as stated bellow:

    - Armor tends to get warped and coats stretched, especially at waistline

    - Most emotes have the player stand with a straight back, meaning that during cutscenes it looks terrible on Hrothgar as it goes:

    hunchback> straight back emote> hunchback

It's really a shame, because Hrothgar's emotes are really well done

    - it doesn't make the race feel anymore feral, it feels that they went for a WoW low rank Orc (And even there they have a posture setting)

    - Floating Weapons are MUCH worse on a Hrothgar character.

So, yeah, it adds very little and introduce a lot of issues and again, my perception is that a lot of Hrothgar players take issue with it.

Anyway, I'm proposing a setting that let players choose and not completely remove it from the game.

    Thanks all!

I appreciated that they tried to lean into a more beastly race by going with the hunch however because of all the reasons OP listed the end result just isn't great. I remember during their reveal trailer thinking that their sprint animation would have been even cooler if they actually ran on all fours or something to really sell that beastman vibe. SE (like with a lot of things) seems to have taken a middle ground between beastly-while-still-conventionally-attractive that's kind of awkward (even moreso with the female Hrothgar), and I think it would be beneficial if they just committed to one thing or another but I digress. That being said, an option to give them better posture would be fantastic. I love my Hrothgar and I usually love beastman posture, but here it makes their torsos far too barrellike.

I like their posture. What I dont like is the furries. I just want to be a cool lion man. But they have to find a way to ruin that for me, so I'm a boring human.

As long as it’s optional I’m for it.

If you look ath FFX Kihmari, you'll see that his running is propulsive like a big cat while in FFXIV Hrothgar are "hulking" around and it's just look bad.

Also, I get that they want to make the beastly race more beastly, but that should reflect on their emote and for the love of god, why oh why they didn't put a single ROAR in any emote? It's not like they even had to make new ones are there a lot of different roars already in game.
If you use Hrothgar pose command you see a big lion pretending to be a big lion and it's sad.

I think the "it makes them look more beastly" argument falls flat when the average Hrothgar NPC in the game usually comes with more civilized and refined behavior than a male Roe and specially Au'ra... The caveman posture really doesn't suit a race like that.

The standing and walking posture look acceptable for a beast race IMO. It's the running hunch that was the deal breaker for me. Once you start running the shoulders roll forward and your dude hunches over to a damn near 90 degree angle. I can understand them not wanting to make male Hrothgar stand totally straight but if they dialed it back to the standing/walking level I'd be totally fine with that.

The way fans already fixed this looks way better. They're still "beastly" but they don't look like morons.

I think it's even weirder that, much like male viera and their gamer slouch, the hrothgals do not have the same posture. So it's kinda just making it way more obvious of a problem.
