How do you make room for your Glam Dresser?

Recently, I've been running out of space in my Glamour dresser, I've stored every Blue, Green and level 1 cosmetic piece in there for Ranged DPS (DNC, BARD, MACHINIST), and every weapon for Bard, Machinist and Dancer that are level 1 cosmetic, Blue and Green.

However, I'm running out of space, even after taking things out the dresser to put in the armoire. What should I do to have more room in my Glam Dresser? I've thought about removing every armor piece that isn't dyable and selling it for grand company seals (minus the ones that need to be upgraded to dye, like the relic armor). Is this a good idea?

I know I will have TONS of space if I only kept weapons of my main class, but I'm not sure what changes will be made to ranged dps classes in Dawntrail to where I'd switched to lets say Bard or Machinist. Also, I wonder will I like Pictomancer or Viper better than my current class, where I would have to Thanos snap all the blue and green gear.

Lastly, don't you wish you could put all relic armor in the armorie, outside of the ARR ones?

Prioritize based on how difficult it would be to reacquire an item you pitch. An item being green or blue doesn't necessarily give it priority over other items, especially if RNG isn't required to get them. I also would not store weapons in the glamour dresser. Weapons are already specific to the job and you can just utilize the old glamour system. The current glamour system is meant to accommodate multiple jobs within a given role, which is why, for now, you shouldn't have any scouting gear in the glamour dresser either.

Try to recognize which items can be purchased from a salvager as well, and just toss them. Also, even items that are exceptionally difficult to get are absolutely worthless if you know you will never actually use them. Toss those too. The only items that should be considered non-disposable are those you absolutely know you cannot obtain again. These are very few and far between. I would also include older relics as well. While you can purchase replicas of Zodiac and Atma weapons, there is a sentimental value towards having the original with the custom stats you've placed on them. While you can technically do the quest over, would you really want to put yourself through it again?

I level and play all jobs more or less, so I tend to run out of space immediately if I just chuck everything in there.

Any time I run low on space, I go through a category and look at each thing one at a time and ask myself "am I really ever going to glamour this piece on this job?" Some pieces are generic enough that I could pair them with a lot of things in the future, especially if they're dyeable. Other pieces are so specific that they'd really only look good with the armor set they're designed to pair with, and am I really ever going to want to look like that? Probably not. So many pieces just don't match my personal aesthetic.

A lot of level 1 pieces designed specifically for glamour for all jobs stay, because I could use them on my crafters or some fun RP glamour.

Once I've got really cool sparkly relic weapons for certain jobs, I don't tend to keep any of the more normal-looking ones at all.

Simply enough, you don't store everything in your glamour dresser, even if you plan to keep it long term. Use retainers as overflow for gear that would be annoying to reacquire so you don't want to throw it out, but you aren't going to use it frequently.

Besides that, for deciding what to keep then (as others have said) you need to be familiar with what can be reacquired easily and what is difficult. The green and blue colour codings are not helpful for this, as they cover multiple types of gear that range from easily purchase to frustrating luck-based dungeon drops. Green gear can be from levelling dungeons, endgame dungeons or endgame crafted sets; blue can be tomestone gear or raid gear.

    Overall the hierarchy would be:

    1. HARDEST TO REOBTAIN

Endgame dungeon gear (from dungeons at levels 50, 60, 70. 80, 90) and alliance raid gear is entirely luck-based and can take many runs of the dungeon to reacquire.

Relic weapons (usually marked in purple) can be a long process to build and the ARR ones in particular need to be kept permanently unless handed in during the early stages of building the Heavensward relic.

    2. SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE

Levelling dungeon gear: Completing a levelling dungeon is guaranteed to earn you one piece for the job you are currently playing, so any piece can be reacquired with a maximum of ten runs of the dungeon. The exact difficulty value of these scales with how long it takes to run the dungeon in question - it's more important to keep gear from an Endwalker dungeon than a Heavensward dungeon you can solo in five minutes.

Normal raid gear: Again somewhat variable depending on the level; you can repurchase it any time with tokens, as long as you've either got tokens or go and do the fights

Side content currencies: PVP, Gold Saucer, hunts, Island Sanctuary... there are a multitude of side activities in the game that yield their own currency for exclusive items that often aren't tradable, so you have to put in the work for yourself. Prioritise keeping gear if you don't enjoy playing the thing and/or don't have a reserve of the associated currency to repurchase it.

Expensive glamour gear: Although craftable, these tend to require materials that are annoying to obtain and in short supply, usually from treasure maps.

    3. EASIEST TO OBTAIN - CRAFTABLE OR BOUGHT WITH MAJOR CURRENCIES

Craftable/NPC-purchasable gear: Aside of some glamour sets at level 1, prettymuch any gear with a grey background is craftable and can usually also be bought from NPC shops. May or may not be cheaper on the marketboard.

Tomestone gear and GC seal gear: Almost as common as gil.

not sure why anyone has this problem unless they are a hoarder, i have all jobs at 90 i have a glam outfit specifically for each class and i only got around 200 or so items in my dresser if i even got that much

items that are easy to get I.E can be bought from a vendor dont need to be hoarded, items you are not currently using dont need to be in the dresser either those can go on your retainer or stuck in the armoire

Look at it this way. You have 20 glam plates. Each of those holds 13 items(and I'm being generous here assuming you would glam the accessories at all beyond Emperor's Newing them). This means that, at most, you only need 260 of your dresser slots. Let's go a bit further though, and round it up 40 slots for some alt options. We're at 300 now. Add 200 because screw it why not, to account for glam items made from expensive materials, items that can't readily be replaced, or cash shop purchases. 500. So, I don't know how close exactly you are to your limit, but I'm going to have to guess you have 200+ items at a minimum in your dresser that you are never going to use, are not hard to get, and are pure cruft. Throw that crap away.

I feel like if Daybreak Games (DCUO) was able to solve this problem, then SE could easily do it. Don't let Daybreak Games be better than you....
