How do you spend your time in XIV between the patches?

Whatever strikes my fancy. Usually roulettes, catch up with side quests, level other jobs, PF EX trials, deep dungeon and map runs, seek out glamours, or just log off and do other things: gym, write, read etc.

Playing other games. I just recently beat Elden Ring. It was tremendous. You should try it when it goes back on sale. Just don't be intimidated by its reputation. I found it quite easy, honestly. It was cheap, but it was way easier than what I was told.

Playing with alts, collecting glamours, assembling glamours, working through sidequests... and trying to remember to play some other games for variety instead of being on this forever.

I got a PS5 recently so I finally got to play Rift Apart (and now want to go back and replay the earlier R&C games), also enjoyed Tchia and am currently having not as much fun as I had hoped to have with Baldur's Gate 3.

Despite some drawbacks from EW & thus other changes it still doesn’t sway me from enjoying the game altogether as I’ve heavily invested my time/passion on this avatar & though I’ve befriended folks along the way (and some had disappeared sadly…) I will always treasure the memories that got me where I am. I truly look forward to Dawntrail’s change of cycle & very excited to have the Xbox community join us in Eorzea; it will feel nice to see some new fresh sprouts/faces for sure.

A lot of longer time players bring it up how there's not much to do towards end of patch cycle. How do you spend your time during this part of patch cycle?

Catch up on content I didn't finish yet.

• FATE grinding (you know, for the 1,000 FATE vouchers).
• Island Sanctuary coffer farming.
• Maps (still need some things from these that I haven't been lucky with).
• Need to beat Eureka Orthos more.
• Need to finish Tataru's quests because I couldn't be bothered with them tbh.
• Need to do criterions at some point.
• And any older content I haven't done yet, such as ultimates, HoH solos, POTD, more ocean fishing for the mora minion.

But mostly I just make sure to at least do a mentor roulette each day, do weekly hunt bills and other weeklies, tomestone cap and so on.

I ignored Island Sanctuary so I spend a tiny bit of time there each day. Up to Rank 11 now.
I do the 3 24-mans each week to upgrade gear to 660.
I do daily expert maybe 4-5 days a week as I'm still collecting Relic weapon upgrades. That said I'm narrowing down the few classes I decided to keep that updated for since I am not bothering with jobs I know I never play. Probably 7 or so I like to keep updated.
I occasionally play around with decorating my house.

I have a few jobs/crafts not levelled but am not motivated right now to finish those few. I also haven't touched Criterion dungeons and am not sure I'll ever get around to it. Instead I do log out and just play something else. I have a little bit of a backlog so the downtime is nice to work on that.

A lot of longer time players bring it up how there's not much to do towards end of patch cycle. How do you spend your time during this part of patch cycle?

I used to play PvP and Mahjong due their less repetitive nature compared to raiding and such, but after doing so for large part of Endwalker it's starting to feel less and less rewarding so I'm just taking a break now.

PvP, I did get the Eureka armor then took a break though, I think my next goal is the full set of Law Order gear, then completing an Ultimate for the first time.

Before my FC i would just go play different games between the patches,

Now i have my FC we do the following;

- Map runs
- Ultimate Proging
- Hunt Trains
- Social nights
- Savages
- Leveling crafters
