The Best of Eureka/Bozja - List Your Favorites!

Before we hear about the next Exploratory Mission, I thought it would be a great idea to list all of the things that you loved about Exploratory Mission.

The goal is to be positive and have helpful items for the devs to consider. Even though we can expect a few "I hated" remarks, at least surround them with the ones you loved.

    And go!

Eureka Hydathos will forever be my favorite.
    H-Y-D-A-T-H-O-S P-L-Z

    - Beautiful zone
    - Lots of colors (I miss COLORS, Yoship, not Bozja browns)
    - Area was open and easy to traverse
    - Proto Ozma gave a whole new level of difficulty
    - The bosses were exciting and fun
    - The gear was phenomenal
    - The weapons were phenomenal

    Eureka Anemos
    - Beautiful area and waters
    - Was great once you had a mount
    - The weapons were nice starters and some I still use to this day.
    - Pazuzu
    - The area was a challenge to traverse but not overly difficult.

    The Dalriada
    - Very fun mission together, though I wish it happened more often

    Zadnor
    - Significantly better and slightly more visually pleasing than Bozjan Southern Front

The nice thing about Bozja zones is a) forced gear sync, no gear requirements, and b) provides job exp.

I'd definitely like to continue seeing a Bozja-like zone every other-ish expansion for easy lazy leveling of alt jobs.

But the zones need to be more fun. Eureka did the fun way better than Bozja.

And, while I recognize the problems this causes.. I'd really like to see an in-zone leveling system again. Bozja was boring in that regard, new ranks didn't do much for you compared to elemental levels. They just.. need to design a means of avoiding the "new players are stuck in solo hell" thing.

Eureka zones were more interesting, with maybe the exception being Hydatos because it's a Baldesion Arsenal staging area.

Eureka had more of a community feel. Bozja was too much running to fates becauses they spawned too quickly without input.

On the other hand, a Eureka instance being dead because all the fates were farmed also shouldn't be a thing.

Critical engagements and Bozja dungeons were much appreciated. Duels were okay, but I think they should've increased the number of people allowed in like 4 or 8.

The Eureka relic was more enjoyable to me because I didn't have to change how I played too much. But I think everyone agrees that the Bozja steps that require dungeons were a mistake.

    The catch up game

Eureka suffered a major player drop in Pagos due to the early implementation of levels and the systems that were gated behind them; teleports and mounting. That along with the fact that proc'ing the area boss at the time was counter to the light grind made it even harder for latecomers to catch up.

All that to list the changes in Bozja I believe should stay that addressed this issue.

    1. Tighter levels. A max Resistance rank of 25 vs a max Elemental level of 60. Alleviated a lot of the level grind woes.
    2. Unified objectives. With the first Southern front update and from then on the design of the content rewarded higher level players with the resource they needed by helping other players (resources from Castrum Lacus Litore).
    3. Differing resources. Having separate items for armor and weapons made the gearing process much more pleasant.

    Suggested changes
    1. Grind stages are fine, but chance drops (THAT FATE stage) are just bloated filler that can separate groups trying to do the content together. Even if the number of items were raised, the 'do a thing, get a thing' philosophy works better here.
    2. Armor and Accessories. With how much later the content updates as opposed to currency and raids, gear should be the same item level as augmented currency. Also accessories should be added.

    I loved:

    Eureka
    -leveling!
    -zones
    -gear
    -notorious monsters
    -relics

    Bozja
    -duels!
    -holster and lost actions
    -delibrum reginae savage
    -castrum

Leveling pace and relevance was a lot more enjoyable for me in Eureka.

I especially love duels and how they are beneficial to everyone if they are cleared with the mettle buff. I've done them all and at least a couple on each job and they're nice for when bringing lower level friends into the zone. The spawning and qualifying part was always really stressful though, so if that could be addressed somehow while still keeping the buff for the audience and duels as a relevant source of gil, I would appreciate it.

My personal order of Eureka zones is Anemos > Pagos > Hydatos > Pyros.

Eureka and Bozja are the only contents where I feel like I'm playing an MMO instead of a single player RPG.

Totally agree. I also loved the Eureka relic.
