whats up with the pictomancer hate

I was excited for Pictomancer, I hope the mechanics work like Dancer, since it'll be an easy transition to me and finally give me a reason to play caster. However, my hype has been somewhat ruined because someone claimed claimed that YP mentioned that the class would have to prepare their spells, and will have long cast times for the preparation as a result. Kinda like casters in DnD.

The other casters in the game don't do it for me, so I was hoping PM would finally be my reason to run Caster.

I'm honestly more excited for the job if it has higher emphasis on hardcasting akin to BLM instead of being predominantly instacasts like SMN.

how you gonna do endgame content if all your spells take insanely long to cast? It's gonna be so bad where you can't even attack the bosses lmao. Especially if they move a lot.

(if they do make it unplayable, as in focusing on hard cast, then i hope it'll be entirely different in PvP)

No one knows the mechanics of this job yet. Just wait for the media tour and job actions trailer for the devs explanation. Maybe we will get sneak peaks from future live letters too. Don’t listen to others. It will drive you crazy. Everything right now is just speculation amongst the community.

I feel like you're taking things out of context too. For me personally I'm not quitting because I hate pictomancer, I just don't play things, I don't like, I'm quitting because Endwalker was awful and Dawntrail didn't offer me a reason to keep playing. The role of these media tours is to garner attention and excitement, to offer you reason to want to play and for me personally, it did not do that.

Pictomancer may have a play style I absolutely love but first impressions are of utmost importance and pictomancer failed to leave an impression. Don't get me wrong, I plan on watching the job action trailer to see if my opinion changes and I am certainly open to that, I just won't be subbed in the meantime.

Well PIC isn’t a healer, so the chances that it will be that miserably designed with respect to the content design are pretty low.

yo, this is getting wild. the job isnt even a week old and already people cannot handle it.

1 thread says its not neon enough, another says its too neon.
1 thread says the gear is too cartoony, 1 says its not cartoony enough
sevral people said theyre going to unsub just because of it
sevral said theyde kick pictomancers from there pf
sevral said picto was out of place in ff ( i guess they forgot about spriggan bombs, chocomog and cactuars)
sevral people said its a GIRLS and LGBT only job (this is the most laughable 1 so far)

Don't worry about it. These forums are absolutely lousy with people who claim to hate the game, but will pay their subs and get every expac that launches.

They are a vocal minority. Pay them no mind.
