I'm still mad about it. Why Viper? Where's the poison? Why didn't they call it Blademaster instead? It's the same as Sage, why Sage? He's not a Sage, he's a Medic, just call him Medic goddamn it (or Physician at least). At least Pictomancer makes sense. Imagine if its name was Cartooner or something.

I don't really see the issue with Viper, sure vipers are venomous but they're also typically ambush predators and strike pretty fast. Plus, the rotating fangs could be a nod to the transformable weapon Viper uses (and you'll have to pry the Wiper meme out of my cold, dead hands).

"Wiper" will certainly be the more accurate name on launch, because that's what 95% of them will do to your group.

Ninja has two blades and the Viper combines their blades so the Ninja is more a viper than the viper.

Why dragoon, why not spearmaster, where's the dragon pet?
Why not axemaster, battlemaster?

Names like "Viper" bear an implication, it fits well a job sharing gear with a job like Ninja.

Finally, a "Blademaster" is someone who's an expert in using melee weapons such as sword, spear and axes. They're often teachers of knights.
Considering this, it would make even less sense to call Viper a "Blademaster".
