I was going to ask if you knew what your temps were and what your case flow was like.
I run Afterburner/Riva stats on my screen all the time, have AMD Expo on my RAM, have both my CPU and my Graphics card slightly overclocked, and I don't have any issues. Even on my old PC where my CPU and graphics cards were MASSIVE overclocked out of the box (I didn't even know it for over a year until I started researching computer stuffs), I didn't have any issues with XMP or Afterburner overlay on.

Only time I ever had issues like this was when my CPU temps got way too high because my CPU cooler was poop and I'd been playing BG3 before loading FFXIV up. Swapped the stock cooler on my i7-11700F for a Peerless Assassin and never had the issue again.
Have an AIO on my new system, with a massive high airflow case.

If FFXIV is getting your CPU over 70C or your GPU over 80C, it will start crashing even though most components themselves have a thermal limit well above that (AMD CPUs have the lowest thermal limits and even those are up around 90C before they start voltage limiting, and into the 100s before you damage them, Intel you can go into the 100s before they start to limit. GPUs can and do go into the high 90s and 100s in some intense games without damaging them.). Even a bit lower then that and I've noticed degraded performance. Right now I run at 50C CPU and 60C GPU and everything is great. My old system ran about 5 degrees hotter and was fine as well.

Temps are one thing a lot of people fail to notice or consider when they are having an issue. But it can cause a LOT of problems up to and including bricking entire systems IF it gets too high. FFXIV crashes long before truly PC damaging temps, but if you are having issues, and other games are running fine, temps are certainly something to consider.
