They should put that energy into a FFXI remake instead.

I only ever hear about the lv75 era being good. If they remade it, the people who liked that era would probably not go back if it included the later expansions that added all the QoL and things they hate with a burning passion. (I have 2 friends who were VERY into XI in the 75 era and I hear all about it)
I don't think its a winning venture for SE.

I like modern and 75 era 11. Either way I be happy with a ff11 remake no matter what expansion or era they stop at. At the same time I think I would rather have a current retail remake compared to what private servers have done since square and private servers don't have original code/damage calculations or anything else from that era saved anywhere.I only ever hear about the lv75 era being good. That is when the true Vana'diel of legend will be reborn.

75 era was great but then the final expansion really gave it all, Abyssea spelt wrong? Was just a mess of folk levelling low level jobs, via gil usually, but being able to solo dynamis was amazing, I finally achieved goals I set out from day one of playing it (yes I started the day of release with the terrible connections )

They would absolutely dominate MMOs if they revamped XI to XIV standards
They wouldn’t even need to do all at once, they could stagger it like WOWs season of discovery, and start with a 20 cap, so only the main cities, immediate zones, then La thienne and dunes, then release the next phase each patch

As someone that has always loved the final fantasy franchise,
I subbed to the original game for less than a month, and even then I barely logged in, would take ages to login as so many people had them boards in the city to sell stuff, never actually used the feature so assumed it was like a mobile auction house
Apart from main story, I think I just done leve quests, which low level were hard as it would be multiple mobs attacking, and targetting was a nightmare
Wow worked as a classic, as a lot of people had fond memories of it, even the weapon skill grinding
Rift sort of worked as a classic until the game seemed to die off
XIV just wouldn’t work, even if they had the manpower, I just can’t see anyone realistically wanting to play it, for more than a “oh so that’s what it was like” for a week, then stopped
Now if I had a final fantasy wish, it would be XI got the ARR treatment, that game had so much depth and stories, and beautiful zones, it’s a shame it’s just in maintenance mode
If they rebuilt it like ARR, they could easily have two leading MMOs under their belt
Just my opinion
No one is talking about the cool Dodo fight I linked =(

If FF11 had a better user interface, then you wouldn't need FF14 1.0
I would love to play final fantasy 11 again, but I want to be able to do stuff with others, the social aspect along with the gameplay really made that mmo shine75 era was great but then the final expansion really gave it all, Abyssea spelt wrong?
