What Class Archetypes Are We Missing?

A job that actually uses a shield. Paladin has like 3 abilities that use it, one of which you never press, so most of the time it's just kind of there.

You know what? I'd welcome that. That is fantastic. A healer colored mage to rival White is INGENIOUS. We only have white mage in the healer category. Black Mage, Red Mage, and Blue Mage are all DPS. Something to add contrast to White Mage in the DPS slot would be incredible. (I know Blue can be anything, but it TECHNICALLY is a DPS.)

Both Warrior and Berserker are in... Warrior. Inner beast. Except going full Berserk is meant to be avoided.
BRD and DNC both have the support role and buff/debuff.

Face it, most aesthetics have already been done one way or another.

Yeah combining multiple jobs into one, and then homogenizing their mechanics and taking away any chance at variation kind of shot themselves in the foot for the future.

"balance" gets in the way of variety and creativity.

I would like to see them utilize the older classes to create new jobs.

As in, you start as conjurer (which is roughly druid already in some languages), but that turns into White Mage.

Ok, so can we take the original concept and turn it into a new DPS (water/stone/aero), and tie it loosely into the Conjurer story? Not joined jobs like summoner/scholar, just a new job that uses the aesthetic. Make it a melee staff king-fu style DPS, I don’t care.

A new kind of Gladiator is another I wouldn’t mind seeing, but we have viper that kinda fits that place.


One I really wanted was an acrobatic dual-wielding pistol user. Add in explosives. Think Bayonetta or Linkle.

We don't have a class like Vincent Valentine that let you shape change into demons and make it so can use 2 guns or shotgun. I guess Reaper lets you change into black ghostly form.

I want a Mystic Knight enspelling spellsword tank. And a Geomancer earth/wind/water mage.
