Yeah I think the name Viper is kind of stupid, but I'm still gonna play it because I've been wanting a dual swordsman for a long time.![]()

relm actually was a pictomancer in the status screen
a job that sort of tries to combine both of zidane's weapon types... actually not sure where viper fits in either. Suppose they assumed monkeyboy angel of death or genome didn't work
i will wait till the new content goes live and kick the tires on these new jobs to see how they play snd not bad mouth everything their doing.
Humble reminder that the name "Viper" is most likely based on the speed of the job + the hunter-like job background... not poison and not "two swords like snake fangs".
They didnt call it blademaster bc thats ugly as hellI'm still mad about it. Why Viper? Where's the poison? Why didn't they call it Blademaster instead? It's the same as Sage, why Sage? He's not a Sage, he's a Medic, just call him Medic goddamn it (or Physician at least). At least Pictomancer makes sense. Imagine if its name was Cartooner or something.
I'm excited for Pictomancer regardless but what's wrong with Viper? Are we engagement farming without even getting paid for it?
bro this thread and post you made is cringe.
Im so sick and tired of this word btw. Anyone who unironically say it from now on is officially that word itself. Get a thesaurus.
You have seen 3 abilities and are already complaining? How bout you wait till they actually release a job trailer before you start the river of negativity.I'm still mad about it. Why Viper? It might have a poison stance toggle or interrupt or something like how Ninja used to. RIP Wasp and Viper Venom from Rogue. You are always missed Q.Q
But perhaps they're relating it more to how all Vipers are nocturnal and have special eyes that can see in a variety of light levels. Another job that works in darkmans, bene cove?
But more than that, it's just another Thief reference. In FFXI THF's best dagger WS was Viper Bite from about level 33 til level 61 or so. This is what Viper Venom on Rogue took its reference from, its first weaponskill being Wasp Sting.
Apparently someone liked the word and was like, "Another, flashier Thief? Let's call it Viper!"

When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
