I would love to see some “special” colors for our Chocobos added

I still find it a little funny they’re called “Company Chocobo” instead of just “Chocobo”, or even “Companion Chocobo”.

But either way, they’re obviously a stable, and they’ve been with us for so long, it would be nice to give them a little extra love.

Maybe unique chocobo colors could be ew rewards for Extremes? Or even take advantage of the breeding system in Gold Saucer and have those unlock special colors?

My thinking is just colors that add some minor particle effects. Or maybe a slight “transformation” of sorts, like a different style of beak or eyes (I’ve always been quite fond of the FF Tactics artwork).

But just getting a bright, golden color would be super dope, imo!

like adding a few new fruit that could add a bit of sparkle/glitter/neon/metalic look to add a bit more to it, things that wouldnt change the actual color but the i think its sheen? god i have vocabulary lol to the feathers.

i would say anything added to our company chocobo should just be a small quest at best or added to the chocobo stables and not other content.

Oh... I like the unique colors idea but since ex content was mentioned what if like the primal you had the normal and fancy variants. Chocobo with flaming feathers, vs a nice multi-red color pattern, dripping water (FFX brotherhood sword like effect) vs lovely rippling sea colors, etc. I like your suggestion.

Please place a few in non-ex content though, like lifestyle, DD, exploratory, like how you mention saucer .

I had a big thread about chocobo content, including raising, and would love to see the big fluffy Choco feather variant, different beaks, etc.

I wondered at one point if company chocobo was a subtle reference to the potential opportunity for 'non' company related chocobo (raised).

I'm digging all these ideas, honestly. But yeah, I figure you probably don't want anything *too* distracting from the armor itself you might be using, but a few very subtle effects might be nice.

But yeah, it kind of feels like instead of "Company Chocobo", it should just be "Chocobo". Sure, you get it from your GC initially, and there are many other kinds of Chocobo, but this one is YOURS, and for all intents and purposes serves as the "default".

I do like the idea of raising chocobos being a bigger thing, though. I haven't really messed around with the Gold Saucer Chocobo stuff, but it seems like a decent enough system that could maybe be tweaked to involve your personal Chocobo in some way? Like maybe if you max out all of its stats, Godbert Manderville presents you with some rare fruit to give your Chocobo a unique golden appearance (ala. the gold chocobo in FF7), or maybe new such fruits for completing each of the Ultimate raids? And completing *all* of them awarding the Gold version?

+1 to this, chocobo colors need updated to match dye options! Personally I’d love to see dyable barding. I’m really picky about color coordination and can’t bring myself to use anything that doesn’t go well with my ‘bo’s current color.

More to do with our chocobo in general would be great. But I'd want changes in coat to remain linked to gardening in house plots. Adding different patterns would be nice and giving our chocos a higher level cap would be nice alongside new skills.

They should also rework how chocobo dyeing works while they're at it. It so janky, and tedious.
