Beastmaster expectations and wishlist

- Physical ranged dps;
- Whip as a weapon (what else would it be?);
- A bestiary listing all the enemies you can capture, similar to the blue mage spellbook. Most of these enemies will probably be "beast-like", I doubt you can capture a garlean soldier (though it would be funny);
- You can capture enemies based on their level and hit points, and maybe they have a rank/rarity system as well;
- The captured enemies will act like companions: they have their own hit points, can draw aggro and they will use actions automatically. I doubt each individual beast will have a skill tree though;
- You can bring your beasts to instances, but I don't know if you will be able to swap beasts inside;
- You will have some support actions that affect only your beasts, such as heal, damage buffs and mitigation;
- You will also have a set of basic actions such as combos and damaging abilities, debuffs and movement tools;
- You can make beast duels with other beastmasters (this is how their version of "masked carnivale" will probably be);
- I really hope that their design will be "circus-like", like a beast tamer. I would love if their victory and battle emotes affected their beasts as well, like making them jump through a ring of fire or something;
- I want a mount for clearing savage content. If they won't add Omega and Eden for Blue Mage, it should be for Beastmaster;
- I want a leveling roulette for limited jobs.

A whistle? Make the weapon a whip and you're going to have everyone with an interest in the ethical treatment of animals breathing down SE's neck. Use of whips on animals is generally not done anymore.

I would expect players to have a small number of beasts they can bring with them into instances. A single beast would be too limiting when it comes to attack variety.

I think Beastmaster and BLU should be able to play together without penalty since both are limited jobs.

Otherwise, I don't really have any expectations beyond the usual variety of abilities based on what the beast is.

I don't want it's "progression" to be anything even remotely close to BLU's. I don't really know how exactly I can describe what I mean by that, but everything about BLU has this "feel" that doesn't sit very well with me. You're given all of these spells to unlock that you're meant to use to tackle challenges in creative ways, but it all ends up feeling so artificial and choreographed to me, and BLU suffers from a lackluster reward structure. My motivation for doing new BLU content is... that I have then done the new BLU content... It doesn't feel very compelling. I'd like Beastmaster to not repeat that.

i have no expectations or wishlist for beastmaster just like bluemage i probably wont even touch it, if i wanted to grind mobs in the open world i'd play FF11

I expect them to be able to tame special boss monster rather than just anything we find out in the open.

I think its gonna be Axe and a shield the classic. I would definitely want Courier Carrie and Generous Arthur. Carrie cause CRAB and Arthur has an AoE ability where it does -10% total HP. Arthur also has -33% attack and defense debuff. This pet would quite literally destroy the entire game if they were added. Though they'd probably have some penalty against bosses but I'd love to see this happen if it does get the green light.
