Yoshida: We decided not to tie it directly to the legacy campaign, but we want to prioritize getting the current players that are playing now into beta.

What I am getting from this is that all "Live" players active over a time period of some sort will have a chance at beta. Its possible to be a legacy member now and not have a active account so I can see why they choose not to link it to legacy members. This is just how I understood it, may be something different all together.

I think Yoshi's idea is to have the current players roll out new beta characters while our current data is being ported to the 2.0 system.

Ah well, the 'free' shit makes up for it far as I care.

I imagine they'd wanna let everyone in just to stress-test the new servers and see if they are up to par. That alone could be the difference beteen a successful relaunch and a certain doom.

they should have active forum members, people who played ffxiv alpha thru beta and has been an active player since launch............

Am I the only one who cares more about seeing what 2.0 entails than about playing the alpha/beta?

I mean, regardless, I'm going to try the 2.0 at launch....we get a free month after all >.>

I don't know or have ant information but something just bugged me that
"What if Japanese region only for beta?"
