You get my point, thank you! I said again that I am not mad about the update at all - I am just giving feedback that it looks a bit weird, and you are correct!

I absolutely agree with you
when they revealed how everyone will look in the update, while the edges are smoother and such, the small details that should make them look better literally aren't there. They look plastic or like they covered their faces in concealer without anything to help their appearance. Yes, this may seem nitpicky- I'm a painter irl so I see details like that especially with how characters appear in ffxiv.
So, likely we will have to rely on using face paint for blush.
While I hope there is a subtle skin color update though, with flushed features where they naturally would be instead of having to rely on face paint to solve that issue- which is another problem in itself BECAUSE the face paint color palettes are very bright and can look clownish the darker skin tone you go. So, we do need the designers to give consideration to how skin tones actually look. While it doesn't have to be some black desert or crazy overhaul, a small detail such as adding flushed tones to each skin tone would go so very far in a positive way. The devs are trying to point out details when they show us these updates to character models because not much has actually changed. It's like presenting two plain pieces of paper but they both have been folded in the same way, but the folds on one are just slightly more pristine - and being told "see! theyre not the same!!"
I still appreciate the overhaul, but the plain paper is still plain paper

You are precisely correct. This is what has also been bothering me. I really hope the developers take your words into consideration. It seems as if the skin just does not have enough of the same lightning it had before for it to look natural? Like the nose/eye creases perhaps? But flushed skin is also what I heavily agree on.I absolutely agree with you
