You are all right. In my eyes there is still something off but I am sure it is just the lightning. We cannot tell from just screenshots. I hope that they do look good ingame. Thank you.
I don't think that new face looks bad per se. The lighting looks alright, and it has that "toyetic" feel to it.
My main worry is that that's a totally different face than the before!
All the sharper angles in the nose and around the eyes are gone, and those are completely different lips.
~sigh~

The lips are the same, this just really shows how BAD the old lip models are.
The nose is just smoother from the update. the shape is the same. Lighting and updated models really does wonders. Same with the eyes.
The old textures were just that bad. The nose wasn't angled by design, but it just looked that way because the textures were sharp around curves.
I think the problem you might have with it is the nostril being much too light, like there's an on bulb stuck up the nose XD
i overall "kinda" like how its shaped but feel like the head got way to narrow and we lost all the shadow cast from the nose, its to soft, our jawline is fading, our chin is as sharp as a sword now.. it looks like a bad snap chat filter, i dont want my character to become more childish and baby faced, i already cant have a beard and cant play thicc human because -EYEBROWS-
and the other races are to effeminate for my taste besides the over inflated never-see-past-your-body-adyn's...

There will defo be a bit of an adjustment period for sure. IMO the lighting across the nose is simply more diffused and realistic, it looks a lot less like the character is being lit solely by a harsh overhead lamp which is often quite a glaring (hur hur) issue at least on Lala where half my head often seems fullbright and half is pitch black. It looks really off for me, for some reason. Something is really off, yet I cannot place it. What I would suggest is making it more subtle, like how the developers promised. The nose and the eyes appear to be the main focus of what feels weird to me... I hope you can get my point. Thank you.
I'm pretty confident that in game and in motion, it'll look *much* better overall in more situations, especially in bright daytime areas.

They made most of the update look like ugly plastic dolls. It's honestly worrisome. I'm just hoping it's just the still images.
We'll know better when we see examples of older cut-scenes that still wipe out most facial features due to lighting. Because nothing says "improved" like seeing an improvement on the little more than whites of our eyes and, possible, a nose. Those used to be so unsettling.
