Jobs Haven’t been as “classic” of late

It’s sad how people dismiss the classic Final Fantasy fans who play this game as the fourteenth installment, rather than just being among the best currently active MMOs. Can’t both camps win? We could have a classic job next expansion, and a brand new one to appease both camps. The blatant disregard to FF fans who play this game is unfortunate.

Why does being a FF fan immediately mean you need to want classic jobs

I know a lot of classic FF fans who are sick of the classic jobs being butchered to fit into 14’s rigid combat system

Pictomancer certainly is "classic." There's an iconic Final Fantasy character that represents the class. Bravely Default (an IP of SE) recently even used it for a class much like they did with Astrologian; another obscure class at the time.

I won't argue about Sage and certainly not Viper. It's like they wanted some kind of techo-mancer or something and slapped "Sage" on it just because. Reaper seems to have some Necromancer-inspired tidbits the same way Time mage is/was reflected in Astrologian. I mean it's not a Necromancer, but it seems a lot like the devs answer to it because of their stance on actual "pet" classes.

So I'm giving them a 2/4 for the latest jobs being "classic," not 0/4.
