I can't find the fun in this game any more

I loved this game from when I started in 3.4 to Endwalker, and Endwalker killed it for me. I can barely be bothered to finish the MSQ for months after the patch's release, and have no more desire to do even extreme trials or 24 man raids, much less savage. Dawntrail looks even worse than Endwalker. The new jobs are not interesting or emotionally investing at all. It's sickening how they make BLU a limited job but Pictomancer a DPS. I love Relm from FF6, but BLU is the staple FF job.

I hate to see how much this game peaked in Heavensward and Shadowbringers only to plummet so far down with no recovery in sight.

Before you redditors cry about negativity, I loved this game. I have every right to criticize it, and do so because I want to see it be good again instead of bad as it currently is. I want to love FF14, but currently I only do for what it was, not what it became. The direction has shifted entirely in the wrong way.

To me I feel like issue was not that the new jobs weren't interesting looks wise (viper kinda decent, the new caster was really... dissapointing visually), but the main issue is am I looking foward to new jobs in the first place? Not really no, The current Jobs already feel the same and are boring to me, I would much rather have a job design overhaul (Especially healers and tanks) then get 2 new jobs that will most likely play very similar to already existing jobs.

I think the game is going to still do well and I'll still play it but theirs certainly a point where the game just feels less exiting now then it used to feel to me, which kind of sucks, I want to look foward to a new expansion not feel mild interest and to be content with new things.

It's sad to say the things I'm most looking forward to is glam and graphics changes... (like I really like the direction with all that). when I'm more interested in combat and job fantasy elements.

Story wise there has been a certain lack of notable politics which was the strong point of post ARR, HW, post SB and ShB. Mainly due to the focus on Zenos and the writing around him being a black hole for it. Does feel like it was a major mistake to not split up either Stormblood or Endbringer, as well as gutting Bozja.

Gameplay it's probably just a tad bit of burnout.

So what about Endwalker killed it for you? They can't do better in the future if they don't know what exactly you didn't like about it.

i really wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. i think EW has been bare bones on content, and i think that's led to myself, and a lot of my friends also, stopping playing the game. it's really annoying to Want to play xiv, but being told directly by the devs "go play other games instead".
sorry for the ramble post. just vibed a lot with your sentiment and wanted to add my own thoughts.
i'm gunna ramble a bit but i basically am just saying "yeah me too"

not to Get Personal but i have autism and pretty much played this game for 11/12 months of the year, i always take a break in Feb
i've played since the start of Stormblood, and i loved the game. i would play every day for 4-8 hours a day.
i really never got burnt out on the game, until this expansion.

this expac, around 6.2 i could feel myself getting a bit worn out. took a bit of a break, came back for 6.3 for a bit then stopped playing after a week again, didn't play from end of jan to end of march which is a Really Long break for me.
"maybe i'm just getting worn out or bored" i thought. i'd recently finished my mentor roul achievement, which is what i'd been working towards slowly for 2 years. came back, joined a new static, had a lot of fun. but that nagging "this is really getting stale" kept coming back, which isn't something i'd had with the game that much.
again, i don't think it was burn out at all. i still liked playing !! i just didn't have anything to do in game

i DO have things i can be doing. i really like the leveling experience and i like leveling alts bc of this. but the end game loop just feels really stale without a eureka/bozja to hold it over ( i'm glad we're getting one next expac for sure ! )
but a mix between "these rewards aren't for me" really stops me from doing content, especially on Materia which is a smaller server.

i always like to contrast my complaints with "what can they do to improve this"
again, this could all just be a Me issue. maybe i hate the game now ! but i don't think that's the case, considering my previous experience with other video games.

obviously, adding More Content would be just. a generally good thing, but has it's own restrictions.
i think giving us our 2 dungeons per patch back ( compared to 1 dungeon per patch ) would be a good change, though again this is extra time on that and not on other things.
an alternative to give Extra things to do would be the unreal trials being unlocked per expansion.
example: 7.0 gives us shinryu unreal, and when 7.1 gives us byakko, shinryu unreal IS still playable, just is still locked to that lower ilvl sync. the trials dropping the mats + mounts when they are not the Current one would be a nice change to balance this and get people to still do them. removing them from unlocking the faux tokens so you can't cheese it and do shinryu in 7.55 and clear in 2 minutes vs doing the current one.
this isn't a flawless example but just something that could be workshopped.

The game hasn't changed much between Heavensward to now. Changed, sure, but not much. It is just more of everything we already had.
Sounds more like your problem lies with you. You are probably burned out on FFXIV and need a long break from it.

The game hasn't changed much? I disagree espically with combat the difference is night and day, not to say either is better but still.

Pretty much this. Sick and tired of people blaming Endwalker when the game since Heavensward has always been kept this statud quo.

I can understand you not enjoying the game anymore. You also have the right to share your feelings on the forum.

What differences do you think of? Because I can't think of any big changes in how combat works.
