YES. We did it. We got them to actually announce it.

You didn't force them to do something like that. They just took a break from that content to make it better. Not release a trimmed down piece that players will complain about as usual

I'm not gonna lie, it seems good, but I'll only be reassured when I'll play it. With the direction they went lately, they're still able to give us a Field operation area without any shelf life. There is a world where they heard the "play in large groups" part of the complain, but not the "we want content with shelf life that we have reason to run on the long run".

They literally didn't add it in Endwalker at all. They literally didn't announce it in the first Fan Fest, despite announcing everything else such as a Deep Dungeon, Variants, Ultimates and Lifestyle Content. They didn't announce it at the second Fan Fest either.

They made a slight hint as if they weren't sure they were going to do it, but not announcing it along with everything else at the first Fan Fests usually means we are not getting it.

After those Fan Fests, feedback continued to be produced and videos went out about the need for a Eureka-like area.

So now this is not a hint. They actually announced it.

i am super excited for new field operations

i always enjoyed eureka and bozja (eureka more though)

i just hope they fully remove the exp loss from it so that more people will want to participate cause exp loss doesnt feel good and i understand not wanting to do the content because of it.

i also want a bunny fate equivalent back! i hate cluster farming and much enjoy treasure hunting better.

They didn't add it because they decided to try other content, like Criterion (which is 50/50) and Island Sanctuary, which... well, there's enough problems with it. Now they know roughly what to do with Criterion, and open field just might have been delayed to work on it more. They never said they were going to give up that kind of content

They never said they were going to give up deep dungeons either. But they stopped adding them in Shadowbringers and then saw complaints about it so they did one for Endwalker.

They normally announce everything at the first Fan Fest but they save specifics for later, such as names, concept art and videos. They had no slide for it at the previous 2 Fan Fests despite having one for everything else. It seems like it was a response to feedback, and this feedback was mentioned, and there's nothing wrong with it being a response to feedback either. It's a good thing that they can respond to feedback before it's too late.

I hope they remember to future proof it this time, so anyone joining the party late isn't totally screwed out of required group content that nobody wants to do anymore to proceed.
