People who talk about an amazing community are not referring to how well the community executes a rotation. They are talking about their kindness and patience and how welcoming they are.

Most of the people saying that the community is amazing are people who just do roulettes, seasonal events and stuff with their Free Company, because they are anxious about using PF on their own.

As for people who have overcome anxiety enough to start using PF, it really depends which parties you join. I only meet pleasant people in PF ever. Why? Because I avoid any PF descriptions that contain red flags, such as an impatient leader that is making demands or intends to kick people.

If that's the legit worst thing you can come up with that this community does, then... yeah. It's a pretty amazing community. You only have to compare "nice job" to the sort of things that happened in Halo or League of Legends.

And even here on the forums.

These forums are like 0.008% of the community, many of which are the most burned out, long-time players.

it's not fair to shame players for spending there hard earned cash on things they enjoy. This community is supposed to be better than this...

Most people buy things from the cash shop... from veterans right down to the sprouts wandering in Central Shroud, they are riding cash shop mounts a lot of the time. The people attacking the cash shop are a tiny minority of FFXIV players who are probably Asmongold viewers.

I never attacked someone for wearing mog store glam. I pointed out that the player in question who was wearing mog store glam was calling out another player for stating that they thought Square put way more effort into the mog store items than they did the game and that they were more excited for mog store releases than in-game releases.

Side note. I have mog store items. Not all entirely bought by myself because I'm poor and getting ripped off on the currency exchange rate makes it even more expensive than it already is, but I have it and I wear some pieces frequently. I'm not going to shame someone over wearing it. I will point out that a third of someone's outfit is mog store items when they're mocking someone else and saying they have no sense of glamour is because of their opinion on mog store items though.

The issue isn't quantity, it's quality. It's very apparent that the Mogststion items (outside of the NPC cosplays because one item problems) are more interesting and of a higher quality compared to in game items we can get. Some are also questionable as to why they weren't just rewards for new content (Shadow Wolf, Cruise Chaser, the upcoming Lopporitt moon mount). I don't really care either way that there's a cash shop but we should be receiving the same quality of items in game as we get on the Mogstation. It's depressing that I get more excited for Mogststation items than I do in game item releases when it should be the reverse.

You realize your character is currently wearing a couple of pieces of overpriced mogstore glam, right? Don't really think you can be calling someone out for saying a lot of mogstore glam looks better than in-game releases.

I didn't actually look that deep into it but now that I have, it's kind of hilarious that I'm being called out for my opinion while they're sporting two paid cosmetics and saying I'm the one who doesn't know how to mess with in-game glams. XD
