Current Relic Set and New Classes

Greetings,

While I wouldn't say I'm still a relatively new player, I did only join the game in the very tail end of Shadowbringers and spent easily the first fourth of Endwalker grinding the MSQ to endgame.

As per that and the title above, here is the question I'm curious about. With the current crop of relic weapons, will they release variants for Viper and whatever the caster/healer is named? I'm starting to prep for Dawntrail and I'm wondering if I should go grind some more tomestones for those probable weapons. I ought to have the gear for them squared away once Thaliea drops the weekly loot cap.

Viper and the other new class won't get a endwalker relic. Ever new job only gets the relic in the expansion they are released in. Armor though you can get ready.

we will be getting new caster dps so we have to wait a bit longer to know what it will be when its revealed

Yeah sadly they don't retroactively add weapons to relic sets when they add new jobs in the following expansion. They also tend to not do so for any EX trial or raid weapons from duties below the initial starting level of the jobs they've added as well despite the actual aesthetic already being established as a usable template.

It's only relics and weapons they won't go back and add, aside from some level 80-90 weapons to help you level. If you wish to pick up any Scouting gear for glamour, you'll be able to use that with Viper when it's released.

If you want to be prepared, though, I would make sure to have a full set of Aiming accessories for Viper and Casting for the other job since they only give you a weapon and armour when unlocking a job.

Maybe skip earrings, though, if you intend to preorder. They like to include earrings with an EXP buff with preorders.

Per the history of previous expansions, the only weapons the new jobs will get for pre-DT cap levels are Lv80 poetics weapons, which will come augmented as they already are today, and Lv90 tomestone weapons, which at DT launch will switch to poetics and also come augmented. Those two additions will be enough to get your new jobs to start at the Lv83 IL and have Lv93 IL immediately upon reaching Lv90. The weapons will cost 600 poetics each.

First off, thanks for all the replies.

Secondly, I'm more than covered gear wise. Have all 650 (660 secondary ring) tome gear accesories for Aiming, Casting, Fending and Striking/Maiming. There are still twelve items to collect from Thaliea, which will be easier once the weekly loot cap is removed in 6.55. Viper and the unnamed class will just have to go without.

Actually, it would be cool if they got Shadowbringers relics since I have just enough spare memories, but that's a pipe dream.
