Some of them demand payment, and I’m sure the rest are skimming. Consider also that they do run the only store that accepts those currencies.

Designing mammets based on quasi-spirit cores with intellectual autonomy was a mistake. We need to do a factory reset, dump the cores during restart, and replace them with rigid instruction sets. If that means we have to spend a bit more time or gil to make some that are specifically designed for each required task on the island instead of them being able to learn how to do things and improvise, that's a price I'm willing to pay to stop having my damned toaster tell me it wants an extra bag of beets this week or whatever the hell before it'll make the shipment of rugs I ordered.
