    Honestly I just want 3 questions answered by the devs.

    1) How do we level up all the jobs if the primary leveling is quest based? If it is quest based and say in the future SE adds another 8 jobs... how are we going to have the quest pool (which is not repetitive) to level say 14-15 jobs from say level 1-75. That would be potentially 10s of thousands of quest.

    2) With quest based leveling are we going to be locked into 1 job => character model? This has me worried now with the quest leveling and the 8 free slots or whatever in 2.0... The 1 character for everything is one of the major positives for both XI and XIV.

    3) The most important one, is solo questing XP going to be better then Group based XPing like every other WoW clone on the market? MMOs are group games, soloers need access to things to level at a decent rate but it should not = group gameplay xp rates.

    I honestly think story driven leveling might be decent. But only if the focus is still on group gameplay IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE GAME NOT JUST ENDGAME, there is no alt leveling spam, and the quest are interesting... nothing like Tera where it is literally 500 go kill 10 mob quest from lvl 1 to cap.

    Need to make it like this if they are doing quest based level. Make the quest tiered in difficulty and reward.
    Solo: get 2500 xp
    Small group (2-4 ppl): get 2500 +50% xp for each member
    Large Group (5-8 ppl): get 2500 +150% xp for each member

    P.S your Lalafell is an exact copy of a FFXI taru model. Argue how they didn't make the races similar for the sole purpose of allowing XI players to recreate their avatars?

    This is actually a great point. Maybe with repeatable quests and since they are touting their content finder, going to assume there will be dungeon grinding somewhere in there as well once they add more of them.

    Let's not forget, all the stuff in 1.0 will be in 2.0, too. Leves, Behest, Caravan, Dungeons, etc.

    We need more info. The answer in the interview is a little vague on what else will be available other than this quest based system.

    Yeah, it'll probably be repetitive, but the system we have now is the same way. There is just not enough manpower to craft tons of new and different things all the time in a timely matter when most content these days are done in about a week and it takes a month, usually longer to actually come out with content that only lasts a week or two.

    nobody said that quest/mission leveling will be the ONLY way to level. Rather, as you go through the missions, you will find you have enough exp to do the next mission...

    So your first job should get to 50 easily just going through the missions... after that, you can grind lvl normally if you chose (as I understand it)

    I don't think its half as drastic as some of you are making it out to be...

    Would be nice if we ever got clarification though.

    As much as I doubt they will make exp-parties on open world mobs pointless you never know.

    You mean aside from the fact that it was part of their half-assed diatribe to get people to leave XI for XIV?

    I wouldn't go as far as directly cloning WoW, but taking the things that work, twist and turn it until it makes sense in the IP's context and go from there. Class dynamics and the leveling model happen to be two of them. The latter is easier to stomach over spamming leves and standing in one spot kiling the same mob over and over again (which, by the way, is what drove several friends of mine from FFXI AND XIV). The former is my own personal preferrence, because it makes creating parties easier and has a higher chance of supporting my own playstyle choices over being forced to bend to some status quo created by the players.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
