What is a "current" gen MMO? They all seem to be derivative of the quest chaining that WOW popularized. GW2 is probably the most unique since it gets rid of the quest hub, but even then almost every quest is 99% kill/collect grindfest.

If anyone has continue to advance the system, I think its Blizzard. There is a nice chunk of non-kill quests and the phasing stuff makes it feel like your actions are really impacting the game world.

It's about making leveling more organic and lively not just a kill 100 of these creatures but rather go through dungeons, do story and do quest to reach your lv. If it's done anything like SWTOR it'll definitely be something to look forward to.

Exactly bro! I believe people are taken this: Killing monsters for exp will not work" line and making its really sound like "killing for exp will not happen" That's not how I see it.

I believe that's how he just " feels like most players are feeling to him Kill Marmot 50 times.. kill Raptors 200 times... kill beastman 500 times... I agree it can get boring after awhile.. so to ease up on the repetitiveness, he's working hard to make alot of quests so if you feel like you need to stop and take a break from kill endless amounts of monsters you can.

This is what I believe is to be the case.

( this was when Yoshi-P was on his Laptop showing to the people behind closed doors of 2.0 in its early stages).

There will be Monsters Roaming to kill like normal, just they are adding other means of getting exp besides grinding on mobs all day long. For the people that can't tolerate doing the same thing over and over again.
I don't think anyone doubts there will be roaming monsters. The fear is that grinding them in a party will no longer be a viable or efficient method of getting exp -- as is the case in every game the uses a quest/instance driven leveling style.

And still doing a million point three times better than FFXIV, the problem that Swotor had/has is a problem that FFXIV needs to address wish is "End game Content"

This is why you don't seem to fully understand SE lol. 2.0 is purely about making money for them and they'll more than likely throw out everything they wanted to do/have been doing to make that money.

Yes, they're all pretty derivative, but they also attempt to make progress in at least some areas; be it either combat, or dynamic questing, or open worlds; and ArcheAge probably steps away from the mould a lot more than most games. The point is, all those games have some kind of authoratative stance on their MMO whereas Yoshi just panders to the lowest common denominator that wants WoW served on a platter in FFXIV's skin. Only, nobody actually wants that anyway. Lol.

Just because mob grinding is going away doesn't mean that all party content is going with it. There will be a strong emphasis on dungeons, as well as a redesign of the behest, caravan systems. I imagine there will also be plenty of group quests as well. Jobs are still relevant without the grinding.
