This is one of XIV's main selling point. I doubt that Yoshida would take that away from the game, specially since multiple people have all level 50 jobs, they would instantly lose 6 jobs from no where. If he says things like gil isn't going to be wiped in 2.0, I'd say we keep our characters the same way.


I think this is the reason why content finder is being added. It will emphasize group play for not only endgame, but especially mid game content. The content finder will make it so that getting into the actual group will be faster, which will make the actual group play be longer than finding a group.

I want to add though that in the same interview he also says they're planning around 200 quests per update every 30-60 days, this is how they are going to be catering to 8 class/jobs.

And to everyone they're have been some very successful instanced quest based systems that do not get old and stale. Take DDO for example, where the only xp earned was for quest completion. The quests were awesome though.
