A lot of these weapon ideas sound appealing but I really just want to know what jobs we'll get first. It took XI far too long to come up with something as classic as Geomancer, so expecting it all right off the bat is nothing more than wishful thinking.
I think there's plenty of weapons which should be left for an adventurer to decide what to use no matter what class you are, so I suggest to SE and the FFxiv team to let us sub a weapon for that class/job and be able to skill it up or what-not. The Only part of the armory system that I enjoy(but shouldn't be limited) is switching from mage to fighter to gatherer and crafter. If your in DoW or DoM, you should be able to study any magic or weapon and skill it up. I don't know where in FFxi or FFxiv that failed but it's apparent the people want it back. I just don't think it should be scrapped entirely... only expanded to explore new options (like what jobs do to abilities, it should be done with weapon choice).
