There's already been talk in interviews about taking Daggers/knives away from Gladiator anyway. Any current daggers/knives could just be turned into an equivalent sword.
More people need to realize that weapon types can be defined as new classes just as easily as they can be taken away from other existing classes.
i miss my old thief now....
so... i want a dagger class aswell.
whips, daggers & scythes.
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
It just happened to be the only leftover problem of the armory system I could think of off the top of my head.
I might be the only one but I don't like the armory system that XIV came with...
That's fine but won't it create itemization issues down the line? Do new jobs advance from old ones with new weapons available?
Do they create new classes for every new adv job?

Summoner - Staves, Daggers, Rods, Whips
Beastmaster - Axes, Daggers, Whips, Scythe?
Who should get whips!? (unless one's a class & ones a job)

At a bare minimum we'll be expecting muskateer (-> Ranger?) and arcanist (->Red Mage or Scholar?) because their guilds have been in the game from the beginning.

always looking for good people.
I propose Bayo, Camate, and Rukkirii sneak into the HQ in Japan at 3am dressed in their company issued Ninja Attire (Originally assigned for Cosplay purposes, of course) and obtain information on new classes to share with us. Meanwhile, Okipuit can post on their accounts to cover for them. Also, when you post, Camate can use the anagram Etamac with a blacked out snurble.
Yoshi-P and the rest of the Dev team will be none the wiser. This plan is fool proof.
Also, there's a high five in it for all of you.
whips would be cool.
