easy. beastmaster. i dont need to explain how it works because its all in the nameLet's simulate a job design contest. Comment here a job that you would like to be in the game, including his name, role, weapons, gear, how it looks and how it plays. You can use this template:
Name: Puppetmaster
Role: Physical Dps
Weapon: Mammet
Gear: Aiming
Appearance: Flamboyant and theatric clothes, just like FFXI. His Mammet is both his pet and his weapon, and therefore can be glamoured as such.
Gameplay: The Puppetmaster controls a Mammet to attack his opponents. His GCDs order the Mammet to reach the target and deal damage to it, while his OGCDs require the Mammet to be in range of the target for it to hit (some of them are ranged). The Mammet has a gap closer and the Puppetmaster can both move instantly to the Mammet or move the Mammet instantly to himself (at later levels he can do this to players as well). All damaging actions build up a gauge called the Puppet Gauge. This gauge functions almost as an experience bar to the Mammet: every time it fills, the gauge resets and the Mammet gains a level. Each level increases the potency of the Mammet's actions and unlocks more powerful actions. The Mammet can reach up to level 5, and every time it's resummoned, it goes back to level 0.

100% serious. Like lore wise they could be the heavy infantry of Ishgard. It is also why Halone manifests herself as a Hoplite.
Name it Cataphract to continue naming dismounted jobs after cavalry like Dragoon.
Hoplomachus, except without Gladius (unless you put both sword and buckler into th offhand-slot).
They were based on Hoplites, after the romans conquered Greece. They weren't really creative with their gladiators. Like Thraex being based on Thrakian fighters.
