There aren't many good mmo's sadly. But monster hunter does have some online life and could be fun

PSO2 New Genesis I feel hits the mark fairly well in terms of MMO Action RPG. It still heavily uses instancing in it's design but it's far more seemless than FFXIV on the transitioning while also offering more actual RPG elements than FFXIV and FFXVI.

Monster Hunter did have an MMOish title at one point but they didn't take the title outside Japan. Granted they made that game long before MH World opened people's eyes to the franchise on a global level as the series was solid but more niche before then. ATM I don't really expect MH Wilds to be an MMO but the teaser we got at the game awards has raised thoughts that it may go to an actual open world design.

* Dying causes your character to lose experience points, and if you lose enough you are leveled down. If your character's level sinks below a duty's minimum range, you will be kicked from the duty. Yes, this includes all level-cap content, including savage/ultimate.
* Mandatory, open world PvP in all zones! Even cities! Yes, NPCs can be killed.
* All player characters now take up real space and cannot pass through each other.
* Y'Shtola finally figures out how to freely travel between shards, and receives a request from Runar that she come visit. Y'Shtola asks if it's okay if she brings her new boyfriend.

Currently WoW Season of Discovery is a lot better of an MMO than most of the current games out there. Even though its just remixed old content, but old content is still good content

There's a demographic of controller/console players who can't really approach wow. Nit to mention the community on blizzard games is elietist and comming in as a new player would be about getting gud before you really get you're feed on the ground. Raiding is restricting to guilds and add ons are essential. For those of us wanting to just log in and play it might not be approachable

So you have to actually know what you're doing and be half decent before you get to the hardest content in the game ?

NO WAY, what a crazy thing to have to do !

- goes the way WoW did
- making everything locked behind group content
- introduces an competitive M+ like system
- adds even more buttons to our bars
- forsakes the RPG/solo element of the game

Another Endwalker post patch Story/Expansion
Personally did not care for Zero's story. Gaius was the only redemption of it. Couldn't wait for it to be finished.
As far as Content outside of the 2 ultimate fights, we got Island Sanctuary and Criterion dungeons on top of one of the worst if not the most unappealing raid tiers as far as Glamour and rewards go. More reused assets from older expansions (You thought you could re use the Shadowbringer crafted set for a endwalker dungeon gear set SE nice try) If I didn't have a small house/ help friends with ultimate raids I would of unsubbed for a few months. If classes don't feel great in DT then my drive to keep playing will diminish.

According to another post on the forums, the Chinese producer discussed their issues with Yoshi and Yoshi admitted that they had to put more resources than intended to convert all of the existing MSQ dungeons into trust dungeons. The graphics update also pulled the art team off new assets as they were remaking the most popular assets in high definition.

The CN producer also commented that the 4 to 4.5 month patch cycle is far too long as the amount content they are producing was originally targeted at 3 months. This explains why we feel like there is so little content for the amount of time is being spent.

At least they admitted that they went overboard on single player content and will be focusing more on the MMO elements which were neglected in EW. Hopefully with CN and KR producers pressuring SE, we may see more changes as loosing those markets would hurt.

If they continue the 4.5 month patch cycle and long content droughts, that is what would force me to discontinue my sub for long stretches and resub for short periods to play the content. Essentially, I would treat the game how I treat streaming services that have a single show that I watch, when done, I discontinue the service.

If the 7.x patch cycle shows signs of being as dull as 6.x, then that's going to be the dealbreaker for me.

It has even higher standards to live up to considering it needs to create new plot hooks to reel people in again in the wake of Endwalker's questionable finale.
