the new christmas glam is lazy

i dont have much more to say to this, but this years new christmas glam is very poor. we have consistently had better in the past, therefor i know its a standard squex can live up to.. but this years glamour is just not good enough.. its extremly generic and honestly recieving nothing would have been better.

latley it feels like everything in the game is lazy, half hearted, half baked.. unfinished.. we were promised content between 6.5 and 6.55 but weve had nothing for months... i just want to make this post to make them aware, that if they wanna push glam as endgame.. then can they please step up with that? and also with the quality of the seasonal content.. again i KNOW weve had better.

It's... a Santa outfit for a quasi-Christmas event. I'm failing to see the problem. All of the glams we've had from Starlight until now have been iterations of outfits taken from staple Christmas figures. We've not even seen it up close yet.

I understand the "[w]itch eating crackers" attitude this game can engender lately but this is pushing it, lol.

I think this outfit's pretty standard. What's messed up in my opinion is that we haven't gotten an indoor tree item in years and once again (for i want to say the 4th consecutive year? maybe more) the only way to put a christmas tree in your house is to buy one from a hoarder for like 8 million Gil on the marketboard or cough up 5 dollars on the cash shop. they basically gave these guys a Christmas tree one time several years ago and now everyone else is just stuck in this situation year after year. I complained about this last year and the year before that and I don't really care who sees it and goes "durrhurr it's just a tree who cares" like come on. It's a Christmas looking tree around the holiday season; this should honestly be a standard thing you can just buy from the housing vendor in December. I know the guys running this game are basically on the same greed level as a f2p kmmo at this point but they really should just let you collect holiday themed rewards retroactively when that holiday rolls around. Instead of just having the one for that year, have all of them. Just put them all back. Out of bounds enjoyers already will tell you that old event stuff is just lying around in the game anyway, so why not use it. Like when starlight comes up, just have all 10 years worth of starlight events be in the game simultaneously for the people who missed them. This lets the game's extensive history age like a fine wine because now you have all this cool stuff to fall back on and loads of event happening at once to tide people over during a long content drought. But oh, that'd affect their ability to sell the old rewards to us for 3-5 dollars apiece, right right. never mind I guess!

Personally I don't see anything wrong with it but w.e lol. When they separate glasses from headgear, I think if they could separate some big beards that'd be cool (with physics please ). That is assuming the beards are not just added into the character creator / barber.

Some of the trees in the shop seem shady given they are so classically standard, like a Christmas tree. I think what they could do is upgrade the mog shop to have a bunch of variations, that you can easily select through right click UI. Then make static options for others (like if you want to change the color of the lights, get a different tree). Alternatively perhaps they add seasonal decorations to both mog store and gil store but that the gil version are timed life that last the season + a month in both directions. So each year you could buy like a 15k gil tree, which will perish.

If they want you could gil sink it too so it's like:

Season item when it is introduced:

• Lasts forever and can be repurchased, if you own the achievement.

Season item out of the season it was introduced:

• Cheaper timed life option (15k - lasts 1 - 3 months, gil).
• Extremely expensive single purchase* long lasting option (100k - 500k ?, diamonds are forever, gil).
• On sale cheaper tree that last forever ($ ideally less than now...).
• More expensive season bundle which includes the achievement (such that you can repurchase items too, more $ naturally).

Expensive NPC purchases are always nice for gil sinks since the gil just 100% exits the economy. *Originally referring to housing decorations that are core to a holiday vibe like.. a Christmas tree lol, but!! -- If you extend this idea to many items like mounts and glamours you would see a lot more people in the seasonal theme which is nice, and I think it would help bring a little better excitement to each holiday as you don't just get new items but you could use old items too. There are for example a lot of really cool costumes that seem core to the holiday that are locked behind a paywall now. This split may allow a better theme in the time of the event, but given the temporary nature of the item would still encourage a cash purchase (or a great gil sink purchase).

An aside to glamour for seasonals and such, like the pumpkin head, make the item have a special cast glamour feature- so like you can 'wear' the head as normal but if you right clicked the pumkin head you could select transpose / cast glamour and then it would apply it to your current head piece. This allows very easy use of those items, and perhaps using it again would remove that specific glamour if it was already applied.

On the side of mogshop though (aside part duex!!! lol), personally I always thought each season mogshop should have a complete package that includes the quest via Echo, achievement, etc. Phase the event personal to the player, or whatever. A baby story package almost akin to FFXI.

I think the beard on the online store is a separate piece… not sure if it dyed though. Next year I’d like to see a fancy winter party dress instead of a slightly different Santa suit. lol

What's lazy (to me, at least) is that the outfit's design is literally a cheap shopping mall Santa outfit without anything extra to make it special. The other Starlight 'santa-esque' outfits at least had some distinctive take, which adds to the glamour value - this one only serves to cosplay as Coca Cola's Santa Claus.
