But not just that, if they did change blue mage into a standard job, it would remove the entire blue mage spellbook and create a situation where all spells are learned at set times and intervals and every blue mage would have an identical toolkit 100% of the time in order to keep the job able to be balanced with other caster DPS, would eliminate all healer and tank skills, and render all the blue mage achievements unobtainable.
With how the story has been for blue mage, I half expect a joke ending.

Something along the lines of: That while Martyn did study and train with the Whalaqee, he didn't learn how to apply that learning into a structured form like the Whalaqee did, instead creating his own freeform style that he passed down onto us. And speaking of the player, much what the player learns is in spite of Martyn's incompetence, not because of some wisdom he had. After all the closest we get to that is literally Whalaqee totems that stored the information for later use, and those are given by the mamool ja npc, not Martyn.

That the non-limited version of blue mage would feature limited/preset skills for a given role (tank/dps/healer). That at most might allow for like 4 flexible slots for spells or abilities.

After all its weird how there hasn't been a proper mentor figure throughout the blue mage questline.
