Hrothgar's true homeland

So we know that there will be Hrothgars in Tural. But this makes me wonder how they got there in the first place. And if ilsabard is even their homelands to begin with. Since Bozja was destroyed by the Meteor Project and the Garlean Empire, there is no knowing where the Hrothgars really comes form.

What do you guys think? Does the Hrothgar come form the New World or from Ilsabard?

We don't know where any of the other playable races originally came from, so I doubt we will learn it about Hrothgar either.

But it is something to talk about. Like i mentioned a lot of Hrothgar's culture was gone by the Garleans, so maybe Tural will help us understanding Hrothgar a bit more.

We only really know of the Roegadyn's homeland as they all came from the northern lands of Aerslaent

They're probably Eorzean explorers who discovered the New World and colonized it

I thought the Mi'qote came from Meracydia...

Miqo'te came to Eorzea from Ilsabard. Before that, there were Miqo'te in Ilsabard in the Third Astral Era during the Allagan Empire. They could have gone to Meracydia at one point or been from there, but by now everyone's been everywhere at the multiple calamities and wars have shifted people all over the place. This world is 12,000 years old and experiences world-resetting calamities, giant and swift climate changes, and multiple world-wide wars that all will move populations around. Some populations like the Raen are currently in a phase of mass migrations from East to West.

In 1.0 lore, the Elezen were the original natives of Eorzea and that carried over into ARR lore as the first race to repopulate most of Eorzea during the Sixth Astral Era. Though there may still be some truth to that as Elezen are the original natives of Lakeland on the First.

Lalafell were originally from the Southern Isles in 1.0 lore but the Dunesfolk got retconned to have been Mhachi Lalafell who fled the ruins to the Sagolii desert for reasons that don't make much sense to me and the old lore was better.

Roegadyn and Hyur seem to be omnipresent everywhere and love to travel. Aerslaent is supposed to be the "homeland" for Roegadyn but there's Roegadyn native to the Far-East too.

The origin of the Au Ra seems to still be the Azim Steppe and the Raen split off from them and settled Doma, Hingashi, Thavnair (despite there being no Thavnairan Au Ra at all before 6.0), and a teeny tiny portion taking to the bottom of the sea. The population of Au Ra seems to be on the move since an NPC in Terncliff mentioned Raen being "recent arrivals" though we don't know the context for what "recent" is and we know that at least 1 Xaela tribe fled the steppe to Ishgard only to get slaughtered by racists.

Viera seem to be from the Skatay range and Golmore jungle but we also know that there are some native to the New World.

And on topic, we originally knew of Bozja as the Hrothgar homeland, but like the Viera, they also seem to have been added to the New World. Reason for both is probably to throw in a bunch of NPCs of both races since they do not really exist in any of the zones we've been to at all and also as an excuse to introduce Hrothgar ladies.

But it is something to talk about. Like i mentioned a lot of Hrothgar's culture was gone by the Garleans, so maybe Tural will help us understanding Hrothgar a bit more.

The Hrothgar we're familiar with have been in Ilsabard for over 6,000 years though. And considering how cut off from the rest of the world Tural is, the Hrothgar population there will not tell us anything about Bozjan Hrothgar culture. That's like an anthropologist trying to study Bosnian culture by going to the Amazon rainforest. Bozja Citadel wasn't the only city in Bozja either. The Bozjan people aren't gone, just their capital, and we know of 1 city, Martrvje, with over 200,000 people and there are a few other towns in Bozja that we know about.

The new expansion will probably tell us nothing of Bozjan Hrothgar culture but the new Encyclopedia Eorzea that comes out very soon probably will.
