Also yes to more beards, but considering they can't even add stubble without making an entirely new face for it (using an existing midlander face) I don't think the devs are experienced enough to add something as big as facial hair, that might be a little to much to expect.

In gay culture, a "beard" is a person of the "opposite" gender that pretends to be a gay person's significant other to make them look straight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beard_(companion)

The budget for Ramuh's beard was so high even his E5 version suffered the consequences.

I'd have to agree with you. I want full beards as much as the next person, but these guys can't even handle Hrothgar and Viera hats. Fix that first before you tackle something else you might fail at as well.

What should however not be too much of an issue, since it doesn't interfere with helmets or hats, would be adding eyebrows to male highlanders...




All jokes aside though, I have a rough idea what is preventing them from adding universal beard options to the different races, it's the way those races are set up in the first place.
Hairstyles for example only have 1 model per race, it doesn't account for different faces because it doesn't need to, the top of the head model is always the same regardless of which face you choose.

It does however become a problem when you try to make beards. These need to be fitted tightly to the face, you can't just have a beard roughly hover in front of the face, which would require a separate model for every face option fitted to that specific face (you can adjust it to the extra options within the face like jaw length by using shape keys/morphers).
Let's take male highlanders as an example, they have 4 different faces available to them with quite different jaw, chin, cheek and mouth shapes. This means they would need 1 beard model for each face for a total of 4 different models, the "data structure" however only allows them to add 1 model for each race, not for each face within a race.
