Blue Mage and the concerns with it and a second limited job

For the past 3 expansions, me and my friends have been playing, experimenting and researching about Blue Mage in FFXIV. in the beginning I have given the team a benefit of a doubt that maybe they will improve Blue Mage with the Limited Job structure. However So far with what we have been dealt with it has proven to me time and time again that weather this job is limited or not. Over the years, the developers put in less and less dedicated resources to Blue Mage.

They want to add in a second limited job and we know the fate of it. It will be like Blue Mage sitting there to collect dust given little to no love. To add the icing on top of the cake we have the Exquisite Gentlemage's Umbrella locked behind a duty that is inaccessible to the job itself. Not only that primarily the people playing Blue Mage are casuals meaning they need to put in time and effort should the want to obtain a glowing weapon for Blue Mage which is right now the only Relic-Like glow weapon for Blue Mage. Which in savage mode, if you wipe you restart the whole dungeon and the tells are more one or two hit kills. If the reward structure is to get us to play other content with the jobs we love for a long time over the years of playing the Final Fantasy game series and one of our jobs has a reward locked out because they are limited then they didn't put in the thought or effort for Blue Mage.

I will try and obtain the glamour however the way they brought the new Blue Mage glamour disappoints me and many who have been playing Blue Mage for a long time in the game. The video I have present will show what I mean!

Honestly I think blue mage is wasted resources that could have been used to add a new job into the game. The limited job system is exactly what it is. LIMITED. So the content that you can do with it doesnt sit well with alot of people.

Obviously blue mage was successful enough to have them add in another limited job. The question is will we have more limited jobs in the future after this new one.

I enjoy playing on Blue Mage. Melting fates is fun. Negating certain mechanics of fights and doing things in a new way too.

Some of the spells are very broken and overpowered, so I get why they felt the need to limit it. In FFVII, you had the Enemy Skill materia and spells like Big Guard which Grants Haste, Barrier, and Magic Barrier to target party. That would be really fun to use in fights in XIV (we got Mighty Guard instead as a stance that boosted defenses by 40% and lowered offense by 40%, increased enmity generation and no interrupts).

You can't use all of the spells all at one time anyway and most are niche or role specific, uses an element system, has a combo with status effects that you can't rely on, or just plainly aren't that great. You still have to learn and collect them all which is part of the fun in it's own way. Then still end up with the same spells as your active actions (moon flute/primals/etc dps windows) though for most of the Raids/Extremes Blue Mage is actually allowed to do. I would also really like to not have to hold onto old caster gear just to save it for when Blue Mage finally gets a level boost again.

That said, I really wish they would make different versions of the spells for regular current PvE/PvP content like they do with other jobs. They could just have special job quests that you fight boss mobs to learn new spells instead of just unlocking them as you level. Save the really overpowered stuff for Blue Mage only challenges/achievements. Then let us toggle between Blue PvE and Normal PvE actions in the Blue Magic Spellbook. Give us an actual limit break for each too (Blue PvE should vary by mimicry).

It's silly that Blue Mage can't even do content like Eureka with all of that elemental business it has, Bozja, or the V&C dungeons. The fact that the shiny version of the Blue's special umbrella weapon is from content Blue Mages can't even do...that's definitely adding salt to a wound. We didn't even get a new mount for beating Omega/Eden raids like we got for beating Coils/Alexander raids. Blues have to learn all of the role based mechanics that become RNG since all Blues count as dps despite the mimicry you use.

If the next limited job is Beastmaster / Puppeteer like some hope, I really hope the pets/puppets listen better than the SCH faerie. The idea of redoing all of the same fights I did on Blue Mage, but only on a new limited job this time doesn't sound that fun...so I hope it's interesting enough to change my mind and be super cool to make me dive into the old content. Who knows what side content like the Blue Mage Masked Carnival will look like.
