second double the thing

I'm the opposite. I want them to double the blacklist.
The loading on the friendlist is for checking if people are on another world though, since some stuff becomes limited when world jumping.
Please show support for chocobo boots to be added -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/323512-Suggestion-for-an-item-to-be-added-to-gold-saucer-Chocobo-Boots
Unhappy with how they implemented Mahjong? -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/381358-Mahjong-is-the-most-depressing-mini-game-you-ve-added-to-XIV
It seems to receive 10 at a time and slowly adds them. It would be ideal to try to fit in more data than that over the network.
They could double it, but as someone who has reached the cap before, we'd probably just reach the new cap as well if it were doubled. Eventually, we just have to prune it.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

guess what, we can have both
I don't care if they are in another world or where they are they being online is enough.
Maybe not in this game, but it is in games like Wow.
But what I want is to be removed from people's lists when I remove them and if I change my name for them not to be able to track me down by my old lodestone link. It's gross how enabling this game is to stalking. Especially if they stand just outside of bannable behavior.
And when I blacklist people make it so I can't group with them. Also, triple the size of it. Between the bots and the venue spam, it fills up quickly.

And they really need to improve the blacklist and friend removal interaction (jurassic dead horse I know)... recently me and some peeps left a FC due to some complications with the leader, but we know he can still track us from his fl side even tho we have him blacklisted. Its so annoying
That's what I am dealing with as well. I left a bad situation, and I have someone who has me gps tracked. And they really need to improve the blacklist and friend removal interaction (jurassic dead horse I know)... recently me and some peeps left a FC due to some complications with the leader, but we know he can still track us from his fl side even tho we have him blacklisted. "You haven't proven that it is safe, you've (only) proved that you can't figure out how it's dangerous."
Here are my issues with it:
1) Slow loading, like OP said. Thanks to DC-travel and the buddy system's bugginess, half the time I can't even tell if certain friends are online because it loads them as offline or greyed out until I take that second step and click the little circle icon next to their name. This also makes cleaning out my friends list difficult; every time I delete a person, the entire list refreshes. It takes ages to remove multiple people.
2) No simple way to communicate a message to everyone on my friends list at once. Maplestory had a buddy chat channel. Anything you said in this channel was pushed to everyone on your friends list, and vice versa. It was crude but effective at what it needed to do. XIV has nothing like this. If you want to ask everyone on your friends list if they're interested in doing content, there's no way to quickly do this outside of making a crossworld linkshell (multiple, really) and begging all of your friends to join.
3) If I add someone to my friends list but regret it later, removing them on my end does nothing on their end. They can still see when I'm online, where I'm at in game, etc. This shouldn't be a one sided thing. If I remove you from my friends list, I should vanish on your end, too.
100% agree with all of this. Here are my issues with it:
