Time for an anti-cheat

I came to FFXIV because addons and third party tools are against ToS.

You started playing a game because addons are against the TOS? I'm trying to imagine someone shopping around for games and thinking "Oh, that game has a TOS that said 'no addons'! Nice, i'll definitely try that one" or "Oh no, that game allows people to use addons, I'm definitely not playing that game".

Also, bonus points for implying that SE could be sued for not being as strict on THEIR OWN TOS as they could be.

I played WoW for more years than FFXIV has been a successful mmo, I was tired of addons and this game was a breath of fresh air. Who would have thought that it's annoying to play with addons being an expectation?

ToS goes both ways, it is a mutual agreement and it determines the state of the product and the expectations of the player's experience to a large extent. They absolutely could be sued for it.
