So SE should put tracking software on everyone's devices because a small part of the playerbase might use mods in a race? What a good solution that definitely won't piss off everyone.

Anti-cheat is extremely normal in modern gaming. If you're worried about it that's kinda weird.
Also, what? It's not about the race to world first, it's about people who cheat in this game at every level. People who modify cosmetics, etc.
They don't need to track every single datapoint on your pc and they wouldn't want to do that to begin with. They would track if you are running cheats related to FFXIV. It's normal and it's really weird that you imply that it would piss you off. Maybe you're a cheater?
The more I think about your post the more silly and sus it becomes lol. Let me tell you outright, 100% of the people participating in the race to world first are cheating. It would be streamed content otherwise. They wouldn't be in the "race" otherwise. Since people cheat in the race, everyone has to cheat to compete. It's not an "if" or "some people might be", they 100% are cheating. Read party finder groups for most hard content in this game, they deliberately state cheats as a requirement for participation. They think it is clever to use indirect language to refer to the cheats, but it is not clever at all. The cheating issue in this game is entirely out of hand and it is time for an anti-cheat.
Valorant players have no issue with accepting anti-cheat. It is normal like I said. If you can't handle an anti-cheat system on your computer, maybe you just shouldn't be playing multiplayer games.

Yeah, it's super weird that some people like myself might use third-party mods for accessibility reasons, that's super weird and suspicious.
Quit with the vague witch-hunting, people don't oppose anti-cheat methods because they cheat. Get over your stupid binary view of the world.
I'll turn it around on you though; why do you hate disabled people so much? That's kind of sus. You're actually pretty evil for being so aggressively against people who need to mod the game to be able to see things better or have slightly easier inputs. What an awful human being you are.
It is weird and suspicious that you'd cheat for "accessibility reasons". What does that even mean? You're not mechanically skilled enough to do savage raiding without addons? That's a skill issue.Yeah, it's super weird that some people like myself might use third-party mods for accessibility reasons, that's super weird and suspicious.

Nice edit rofl. What makes you think I hate disabled people? Funny for you to try to spin this against me. You're making excuses for cheating in a video game, I don't hate you for it, I am asking for square enix to disable your method of cheating. Gonna cry and turn yourself into a victim because you think you're entitled to breaking the ToS?
You should watch the special olympics since you're clearly out of touch with how disabled people really feel about fairness in competition.
Funny. "You're actually pretty evil for being so aggressively against people who need to mod the game to be able to see things better or have slightly easier inputs." Very funny. You bet your ass I'm gonna snitch. I refuse to cheat, allow my teammates to cheat, or let enemy players cheat. And yes, using an exploit is cheating. If someone can just walk up to a point that's surrounded by 15+ enemy players and just take the point without resistance, that's not working as intended.

you did not just attack a disabled person by calling it a skill issue
you literally did not lmao
that's next level trolling right there, yikes
Do you never spend time in the real world? Do you play other games that talk about "accessibility settings" for things like being colourblind, hard of hearing, etc.?When did they say that they had a disability? "Accessibility issue" means they are having an issue accessing the content, which is normal for high level content. Doesn't give them an excuse to cheat.
Go ahead, report me for calling you out on cheating in the game. You never once said you had a disability in the prior post. Accessibility issues is a pretty vague statement as I just pointed out. You shouldn't use the word disability lightly anyway. It is extremely common for people to fake being disabled in this community.
Also as a general rule, it's still pretty awful to just assume people are faking a disability because you think other people are also faking. This is the part where you say "oh, my bad", not double down. I have a disablity. Multiple, actually. Feel free to claim that can't be possible, but it won't make it go away as much as I wish that were true.
Be more sensitive towards others, and stop assuming everyone has the worst intentions, both in regards to their opinion about anti-cheat as well as the validity of what they say about themselves.
To be clear, I don't care whether you're disabled or not. Nor do I care that you are breaking the rules of the game openly. I care about square introducing an anti-cheat so I don't have to play alongside people who cheat. Stop making it about you. If you have issues with accessibility in this game, make a post about it in the forums. This thread is not the place for that.Do you never spend time in the real world? Do you play other games that talk about "accessibility settings" for things like being colourblind, hard of hearing, etc.?

Remember that bait meme thread? That was fun.
I never really get this argument.
Most everything you use on your PC is invading your privacy in some way. That includes mods and other third party applications you run with the game. Having your privacy invaded by SE is probably a lot safer than having it invaded by the developer of some random mod/third party program.
It might still upset everyone, but the privacy invasion wouldn't be the reason.
Privacy isn't the best argument here, yeah. If you use any kind of Google service you're getting your privacy invaded anyway because that's all that company really does.I never really get this argument.

What is however a problem with anti cheat is that for it to be in any way effective it will usually require Ring 0 access to your PC, which is a big nono, especially when we have no precedent for a potential SE anti-cheat being sufficiently secure itself.
Not to mention the potential performance impact on less high-end systems. Because keep in mind, while mod users probably already have a powerful PC the average player does not, but they will be affected by a universal anti-cheat all the same.
