Time for an anti-cheat

It's not right for legitimate players to have to play with cheaters, it's not right for cheaters to skew the development of the game with statistics that misrepresent the level of play. It's not right for people to be playing with the cosmetics of the game. Everyone should be on the same level playing field.

Too many people care too much about the wrong things in this experience and it is ruining it for those of us who play for the right reasons with integrity. Please reconsider who you should be pandering to and stop pandering to people who break the ToS.

It is also hurting the commercial success of the game because the reason people do not stream the race to world first in progressive content is because they are running cheats and would expose themselves live. This obviously wouldn't fly with square so they are forced to do all the race to world first offline and all we see is posts of when they cleared it.

WoW has a big raiding scene because they are able to broadcast the race to world first live. It doesn't make sense to hold the game back like this all to enable cheaters.

Nothing is stopping 14 from streaming race to world first. IMO, if you DON'T stream it then you don't get credit. It's as easy as that.

Also WoW allows addons. You can't compare the two games raiding.

You actually can because all competitive raiders in this game cheat and use addons that are way more extreme than what is allowed in WoW. They just don't stream it because they'd get banned for breaking ToS.

Any team that streams in a race to world first is non-competitive because there are tons of cheaters who don't stream their participation in the race to world first and there is no anti-cheat in place to detect whether they are legitimate or not. So they get away with it. Why would anyone bother competing in a race to world first just to stream themselves losing to cheaters? If you're going to race, you know what it takes to win and in this game, that means cheating.

Sure, your opinion is great, but it's just that. An opinion. The community and square enix themselves recognize the results of people who cheat because they have no way of knowing whether they cheated or not.

If this game had an anti-cheat, you couldn't compare the raiding between the two games. But that's beside the point entirely. They are two different games, but WoW has a thriving end game community on stream platforms because it is not based on cheaters.

Anti-cheat is extremely normal in modern gaming. If you're worried about it that's kinda weird.

Also, what? It's not about the race to world first, it's about people who cheat in this game at every level. People who modify cosmetics, etc.

They don't need to track every single datapoint on your pc and they wouldn't want to do that to begin with. They would track if you are running cheats related to FFXIV. It's normal and it's really weird that you imply that it would piss you off. Maybe you're a cheater?

The more I think about your post the more silly and sus it becomes lol. Let me tell you outright, 100% of the people participating in the race to world first are cheating. It would be streamed content otherwise. They wouldn't be in the "race" otherwise. Since people cheat in the race, everyone has to cheat to compete. It's not an "if" or "some people might be", they 100% are cheating. Read party finder groups for most hard content in this game, they deliberately state cheats as a requirement for participation. They think it is clever to use indirect language to refer to the cheats, but it is not clever at all. The cheating issue in this game is entirely out of hand and it is time for an anti-cheat.

Valorant players have no issue with accepting anti-cheat. It is normal like I said. If you can't handle an anti-cheat system on your computer, maybe you just shouldn't be playing multiplayer games.

You bet your ass I'm gonna snitch. I refuse to cheat, allow my teammates to cheat, or let enemy players cheat. And yes, using an exploit is cheating. If someone can just walk up to a point that's surrounded by 15+ enemy players and just take the point without resistance, that's not working as intended.

I never really get this argument.

Most everything you use on your PC is invading your privacy in some way. That includes mods and other third party applications you run with the game. Having your privacy invaded by SE is probably a lot safer than having it invaded by the developer of some random mod/third party program.

It might still upset everyone, but the privacy invasion wouldn't be the reason.
