I am fine with how they are currently structured. They allow for a passive or aggressive pursuit towards obtaining them. Most of them anyway. But since the majority of the rewards aren't much to be desired, I don't feel obligated to get them done in a timely manner.

I mean we literally had the Bill Murray situation not that long ago who also caused awareness to other achievement hunter cheaters from the aftermath. Happened again with Fall Guys. It is infact a thing that unfortunately happens. Maybe not on a widespread scale but it does happen. It is pathetic.

Not everything needs to have a reward at the end. It's the journey not the destination. It's the friends we made along the way.

Some players really want to go for every achievement yet some of them ridiculous gaps like say. 10 times, the next achievement is 100. Then 1000 or 5000. These gaps are insane and just feel like padding it out to make u play the game more. Imo these gaps should be made much more realistic going forward.

But overall. I want to see reform to achievement collection so that hunting them has some tangible value and something you can show off that isn't just. Another title, another mount.
Some of them have actual rewards. I know crafting/gathering drops a few glam stuff not to mention the minions and mounts.

Achievements aren't meant to incentivize you to do them. It's a challenge for you to complete in game on that character.

It's a sense of completion of that specific aspect of the game. If you need something to insentivize you to do it then you don't need to be doing it.

Again, they are there for you to complete on your time and as a sense of accomplishment.

It's sad that this needed to be pointed out.

They could add adventurer plate design kits for 10k, 20k and 30k (when we get there) archievement points

Other than that, a mount every 5k could be a nice milestone too

    Wait...what?

I mean, hunting achievements is its own reward to me, always is in games. It's the experience and knowing you did a thing and know a part of a game inside and out, or found/did some rare thing that few/no other people have done. I don't tend to 100% things for rewards, I 100% things because it's fun; it IS its own reward.

That said, there are tons of rewards, aren't there? A lot of rare mounts come from achievements, some gear pieces/sets, titles, glowy weapons, etc. It's also fun to look at the sites that give rough %s of people that have things and go "oh, that was a rare one, neat!" Like the DoL gather X000 things from Y-Z level range ones, not many people do those.

I dunno, I guess it depends on the type of person you are. I do think having some kind of region/expansion ones would be neat, but stop and ask yourself how many people actually have ALL ARR or ALL SB etc achievements - remember, that would include the things like raiding the deepest room of the Aquapolis 20 times. I'm not even sure ANYone has all achievements from any one given expansion just because of how diverse the content in a given expansion IS. Like, you'd have to clear battle content like Ultimates and Savages 20 times, but also the RNG luck of clearing all the maps of that expansion 20 times, but also the nonstandard content like Eureka or Bozja getting all the field notes and stuff, but also all the Deep Dungeon stuff like getting a solo clear and getting 10,000 pieces of the accursed horde WITHOUT A POMANDER telling you where to stand, making so many collectables from ALL the crafters, getting all relics weapons AND tools, maxing out your Island Sanctuary wallet, doing all quests in all zones in the game, win so many LORD OF VERMILION matches, get a high rating in Mahjong, etc.

Like, seriously think about that. For all people say that there's not much content to do in EW, look through all the EW achievements and ask yourself what it would take for you to do ALL of them. The reason people say they're out of content is because the content they haven't done is stuff they either don't know about or (more often) don't want to do. Even achievement hunters have limits. Like I've done (literally) every quest line in the game other than some of the relic weapons for Jobs I don't care to ever really use, and that I haven't finished any of the relic tools yet (almost finished one of the HW ones...), but I don't really care about doing Ultimates, for example.

I imagine "complete every achievement in X expansion" is kind of wasted development because the amount of people that would get THEM ALL is probably extremely slim, if not outright 0.

What I hate about Achievements in XIV and how they're handled is that they're busy work and structured like people can't think for themselves about if they wanna do content or not. I also dislike seeing people saying they feel obligated to do achievements if there are ones that are worth while. It sounds like a them problem that they cannot pase themselves and not just play the game ad naseum. It's like saying your friends shouldn't be allowed to drink because you can't control yourself when you drink.

Yes, but it incentivises up to the mount or minion reward and usually that is a more reasonable achievement, so I just do up to there, personally.

I agree that being higher than this is just ridiculous or expecting people to repeat content an amount of times that is not only not fun, but also not healthy. For example, I have 411 out of 20,000 pieces of the Accursed Horde out of the entire time POTD has been out.

Not only do we need more rewards for collecting achievements, we need achievements for collecting those rewards. But what for? For other rewards, which in turn also reward achievements. What's the point of those achievements? More rewards. What's the point of those rewards? More achievements.

You're contradicting yourself. First you complain that achievements are just to pad the game out, then you say you want more reasons to pad the game out.

An achievement hunter is after completing the achievements, not getting the rewards. If they feel like an achievement isn't worth doing without a reward, then they're not achievement hunters. They're reward hunters.

The last thing achievements need are more rewards. As you say, it's gotten to the point where the rewards feel like just another title, just another cosmetic item to be forgotten in the Armoire, just another mount, just another minion. And yet there will be players who will feel like they have to play more to earn the achievements and get those rewards. It's not a healthy behavior and shouldn't be encouraged.

If SE needs to do anything, it's to make better use of the Achievement certificate system. Normal game play yields more certificates than can be used, especially for the Veteran players who had already received most of the rewards through the old Veteran program. Adding Fantasias and non-tradeable versions of the special dyes would give players an additional use for the certificates earned without making players feel like they have to go out of their way to earn more achievements to get special rewards.
