Achievements collecting has no real rewards

This game doesnt seam to care about achievement hunters despite many different achievements. There are no threshold rewards (like for example all arr, all stb, all shb achievements) and so this game does not incentivise the collection of achievements past the 1 title u want and or mount.

Some players really want to go for every achievement yet some of them ridiculous gaps like say. 10 times, the next achievement is 100. Then 1000 or 5000. These gaps are insane and just feel like padding it out to make u play the game more. Imo these gaps should be made much more realistic going forward.

But overall. I want to see reform to achievement collection so that hunting them has some tangible value and something you can show off that isn't just. Another title, another mount.

I don't care about achievements if they don't have rewards attached to them. After that, it's busy work and arbitrary numbers.

Unless every achievement gives you a reward, nothing is going to change. And if there's always a reward, there isn't one.

For me, when it comes to the 100 to 1000 to 5000, I just look at the person who made it that ridiculous with contempt. Because they don't care about your time. People shout long-term goals. But THE only reward being behind 5000 of anything makes 5000 the only number that matters to me. Letting me know I'm at 1000 is just a waste of code. So I can get named achievement number 2.

Maybe because I'm from the generation that was around for the birth of video game achievements and achievement points, but I don't care. I don't care if I have a million points or 12. I just want the item attached to the meta achievement. Everything else is worthless to me.

While there are some interesting rewards from some achievements... I really agree with the OP.

I'd say that 80% of them are really meaningless. The achievement hoarding is not even useful for 'bragging rights' if someone likes that because who even checks other people's profiles to see those?

Plus, most of them are also just... grinds. I'd love to see more of something (with proper gratification) like "Do X Alliance Raid without taking any unavoidable damage". Currently out of my memory the only one that slightly resembles that is the Blue Mage achievement to get one of their weapon skins.

I mean we literally had the Bill Murray situation not that long ago who also caused awareness to other achievement hunter cheaters from the aftermath. Happened again with Fall Guys. It is infact a thing that unfortunately happens. Maybe not on a widespread scale but it does happen. It is pathetic.

Was my enjoyment for earning Castle in the Sky less because others cheated? No, because I put honest effort into earning it every step of the way.

It's the other players' problem if they earned something through cheating because they're not competent enough to get it otherwise. In the end, they achieved nothing.

People are doing it wrong if they're measuring the value of what they do by what cheaters do.

Na, I'm glad the rewards are just mounts/a silly hat (that I can't wear..)/ or a title that no one cares about. At least then it's super easy to just ignore them once I get what I want. 10k fates? I don't ever have to think about that achievement thankfully, because there's no reward!
