my usual expansion checklist- the alt experience

Hewwo! I thought I would talk about my ingame experience!
To start alt experience means alt character experience. As I have stated many many times, Rhel'a is a cherished alt of mine ^w^

My expansion checklists go like the following:

• level up DoM/DoW to the expansion level
• level up DoL/DoH to the expansion level
• gear up (everything)
• complete job quests (everything)
• max of tribes
• unlock every trial, dungeon, raid, and alliance raid (barring extreme/savage/ultimate)
• unlock specific side content (exploration, things like doman restoration, etc)
• complete deep dungeon story floors
• log every fisher hole and common fish
• complete every yellow quest
• max out mount speed and unlock flight for every region

and so on...

well, I am in stormblood now. I have done a lot of things I have never thought to try and enjoyed the game deeply. Today I finished up the fishing for HW zones that I forgot to do last expansion and finally got myself a magic bucket. I'm so proud of it! I also got some baits ready so I will be ready to complete the fishing logs (only common fish) for all the sb zones. I got a majority of my stormblood list completed and now it is only a matter of time.

To contrast I will talk about my main character, Ailbhe. On that character, I mainly played the main story and not much else. I did try side content but for whatever reason thought to continue onwards with main story content only.
By comparison, the enjoyment is different between the two characters. Though, I am having more to look forward on this alt. I do wonder what I'll think when I hop back on my main. Likely will be reconfiguring a lot of HUD things and make a few helpful macros for myself!

Has anyone else embarked in a long journey of side content? If so, what is your experiences?

update: turns out I have 3 common ARR fish to obtain for ARR to be done (sans monster fish I will go for in endwalker).
cadaver carp, sundisc, and titanic sawfish
the cavader carp will appear soon, however. Now it is just a question of if I can fish up the titanic sawfish and sundisc today

Edits:
11/30/2023: I got all three very shortly. the titanic sawfish and sundisc were obtained within the same window.
However, my greatest catch today has to be the saltmill. I made great progress on a majority of the stormblood zones
12/02/2023: I only have two fish left. Today I fished the common fish for Rhalgr's reach, completed kugane's common fish, and finished off heavensward with the sunsail, laval snail, and lavalord. I also obtained the silken koifish, wraithfish, and ukiki. I hope to finish off the fishing collection with the Sculptor and Hak bitterling. After that I will have no common fish to log. I also got HoH story floors completed on 12/01/2023
12/04/2023: I finally got one fish. The Hak bitterling. To be surprised, on my first attempt I got it. The sculptor is still proving trying, however. It just simply won't appear. Later today it will appear again and I will attempt at obtaining it.
12/10/2023: Today I finished the Namazu quests and maxed them out. Before that I had completed the kojin blue. Last but not least I will be doing the last 3 quests for the Ananta. Note on fishing: I have decided the sculptor will be going towards the monster fish goal I have set once I finish endwalker.

update: I have completed the stormblood tribes along with the list. I am now to move onto shadowbringers and start the process all over once again ^_^

yeah no problem! Sometimes I return to older zones just to check if I missed anything. Like, in that situation I forgot to buy the mount and minions from the vanu vanu and that is when I found the framer kit. After that I checked the other tribes I had maxed out including the ARR ones.

While I have yet to complete the expansion, I thought to at least make this list and add to it as I thought of more. With Endwalker approaching, I thought to make a mini list to add its its bulk. As you see, some of these items are going to take me far longer than seeing tribes to completed reputation.

some thoughts:

• I thought grinding out shared fates would be realistic during the two month usual time period (or somewhere that much time) would be realistic but I quickly realized it would be easier to do it over a longer period in post-endwalker. So instead my goal changed to unlocking it for now! I may do more FATEs sometime soon though! I made great progress in lakeland.
• I am now working on crafters. Quite the grind! I thought to try firmament but felt I was insufficiently leveled for the materials I gathered (at least in terms of putting them to use)
• blue is genuinely some of the funnest content imo- I get to go crazy with damage! I also realize now how insane they are in FATEs. Especially with all of these new spells I now have!
• The qitari is my least favorite tribe (mostly to do with the blue quest contents)
• I now have all the master recipes up to level 80. Whenever I level a crafter to 80 I use the level 80 master recipe tomes. It is a very surreal feeling! On my main I hardly understood what a master recipe was and now here I am collecting them.
• Mount speed has never been easier to obtain- instead of grinding out hunts now I can simply grind FATEs! Not necessarily a bad thing though- it means I have more options with this currency.
• Not sure how to put it into words but Shadowbringers side content feels different from previous expansions. It feels most dissimilar to Stormblood side content. It definitely isn't the same as Heavensward and A Realm Reborn (Did you know I leveled up crafters and gatherers to 50 using tools only available in ARR?). Not worse or better- just different.

update:
I didn't log on until a bit later so I did not get as much done today. I got weaver to level 79. Culinarian will be the last one to level but it is currently at level 73. I also made 90 golden needles in the previous session.
I got pixies to reputation 7 while qitari and dwarves are not far behind. I will need to really be more efficient on the list! I am close to moving onto endwalker now. I still need to get started on the nier raids, complete eden, and unlock some other trials, raids, and dungeons. I also have yet to fully gear up my crafter and gatherers. I also have a lot of yellow quests still left.
Once I max out the tribal reputation for all three I will definitely be buying the framer kits, mounts, and minions.

I usually do all the side quests in the starting city because they take me to all the mini aetherytes. I tend to do the side quests up to level 15 because they overlap with hunting logs. I do 1-10 hunting logs and some of the 11-20. In the expansions, I do aether currents and ignore all other contents.
