    It's not like SE doesn't have a massive pool of Voice actors to pick from, they also publish a good deal of Anime with quality voice acting.

    But seriously the best VA I've heard in the game was a quip from the black wolf in Futures perfect when he states "You were unwise to come here" with that wicked gas mask muffling his voice.

    voice acting as click on a npc then they pull a WoW "hiya" is ok, but full quest log is crazy like SWTOR, i would skip anyways then it would of went to waste.
    FMV or story stuff voice acting is fine.

    I hate bringing up another game but...

    Guild Wars 2 is doing it right. Random talk when you pass by NPC's, they talk with one another and pass by eachother. And cutscenes have it. The voice acting in that game is also really good, especially the voices for each race.

    When I played Star Wars, the voice acting was decent but the cutscenes were boring and didn't serve much purpose.

    what I'm getting at is I'd like some random voice acting between npc's in the actual world, and specific cutscenes. We are talking about SE, they don't do horrible half-a** stuff.

    You can't stress yourself out about the quality of voice acting until you hear it. It's like worrying about what a new type of food will taste like before you taste it - what's the point?

    They hired Nolan North to do some of the voice acting in FFXIV 1.0, apparently. I'd say they know how to identify quality voice actors. Hopefully this continues!

    Finally: If the voice acting turns out rubbish, rest assured that you can, as ever, just turn off sound.

    I think main story and GC quests would be good, no need to have sidequests/guildleves voiced though, although I wouldn't mind if they did.

    The only trouble with online games like this is they have to have the same VA's years later for certain characters which could be a problem.

    not always the case take for example Kingdom Hearts... James Earl Jones died and for Jonathan Taylor Thomas Disney allowed Se to use archived recordings. I know it's not an MMO but just saying and then also they'll get Va's that is as close to the voice as possible because I can tell you that Genie isn't done by Robin Williams in the games it's done by Dan Castenello (sp) Homer Simpson's voice. Basically my point is they will try to keep the same va's but if they can't they'll find ways to go around it.
