Modern MNK is the best example of this. It is a fantastically designed job but you stop getting buttons for it at like level 60 and then you just get potency upgrades which can make the levelling experience for it really poor

Really people need to stop including role actions you don’t use in button count, when I see “oh WHM is bloated” then see people are including repose I’m like why is repose on your main hotbars

If you boil your rotation down to what actually is used and smartly swap in your AOE hotbars when necessary the only really bloated jobs are PLD/SCH/AST

That's why I said power upgrades and interactions with other abilities. I didn't use the word potency for a reason. Using repose as an example of a role action causing bloat is extremely disingenuous so I'm not even going to engage with that.

DRG doesn't have 36 buttons to bind. It's actually one of the jobs with the fewest buttons. See here and here.

Kinda weird, it's the only job where I can't fit the whole single target rotation on a single controller bar.
I guess it has only 3 exclusive AoE skill.
