It's in CBU3's hands at this point. The community has literally handed them free concept art during a content drought where they're lucky to even have subscribers. It's wild to me that instead of just implementing the winners as soon as possible, they're gonna pull this "Well ackshually we might not implement all the winners and uhm ackshually we might not implement any lmao and uhhh btw we have 0 timeline for when we'll implement anything at all, if we even do" like are you for real lmao. I don't expect this stuff tomorrow obviously, but I remember getting a gold saucer hair in the game and people were like "oh yeah that's from the hair contest two years ago" and if that's the timeline then I guess we'd better buckle up and pray they don't make us wait that long just for them to implement the worst of the winners in a way that's scaled badly for every race but hyur or something.

It's similar but not a copy. Though Artoria's hairstyle does vary slightly depending on the specific manga/anima/game she appears in.

Admittedly, I've avoided looking at entries, because I know no matter what, I'm probably going to be disappointed in whichever one(s) they decide to implement. It just seems to be the pattern now. The one I like probably won't get added, the added one will come 1-2 years late, get locked behind some piece of heavily time-gated content, have weird scaling with on femRoes and make my head look tiny, have underwhelming highlight patterns, get murdered by hats, have some undyeable accessory, etc., etc....

I remember years ago reading/hearing Yoshi P somewhere saying they eventually wanted to give every race access to every other race-exclusive hair style, and I'm still miffed, not only because it never happened, but because I know it isn't going to. Outside of doing the m-word, there will just be hairstyles I'll never get to use. I've seen some of the male Viera hair styles on non-Viera and they just look so good...

Every single hairstyle added since the 6.0 patch has worked on Viera immediately. They said they fixed the problem that was preventing them from adding new styles to Viera when they made male Viera and there's no reason to think this was a lie. It's been 2 years since a new hairstyle didn't function on Viera from the get-go.
