FF14 application constant crashing

So since about a week or so ago, my game has been randomly crashing. No error code is shown after as well, the application just closes. I'm not sure why this is happening, the only thing I can think of is that I had a Windows update before that took a while and since then this has happened. I'm not sure if this is related or not. All my drivers are updated, my computer runs fine, and as far as I can tell this is only happening to FF14.

Things I've tried are;
1. Download an older Geforce driver
2. Restarted my PC/ updated Windows again
3. Uninstalled FF14 multiple times and reinstalled it

Again, this has only started happening recently and I haven't changed settings or anything. I thought it was happening because I was using crafting macros with long strings and somehow that caused it, but realized it was doing it other times as well. I've tried googling solutions and it brought me to check the event viewer as well as problem details on Windows. After checking that, I did see that there were errors in the application when it crashed. I'm not very proficient in diagnosing what it means but, I will list what both of them have shown here if someone can decipher what it means/what the problem is. It seems like it's due to the application itself and not my computer. If so, I'm not sure what to do aside from uninstalling it (which I've already done). I'd rather not have to reinstall Windows and wipe everything off my PC if it can be avoided. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

FF14 can have issues running form the non-OS drive, which sometimes can result in crashes.
Try freeing up space on your C drive and install the game client to that drive and see if that helps.

- Are you running any addition programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV? (e.g. Nvidia Control Panel, AMD etc.)
- Does this crash occur on more than one character?
- Were any system updates, or major driver updates or changes made to the PC at the time of the crash?
- Does this crash occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does the crash occur when alt-tabbing while in borderless or windowed mode?
- Are there any error messaged upon crashing? (If any)

Could we also request for a system report? This can be generated by opening the launcher and going to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display and then copy and paste all the details into a response here.

- As suggested by one of your fellow adventurers one thing we'd suggest is to install Final Fantasy XIV onto the C: drive as having it installed on other drives can sometimes cause issues.

Hello, thank you for the response, and sorry for the very long delay in the form of a response. I did not realize that I had received another response. However, the issue has persisted since the last month of my posting this. My friend came over and reset my CMOS which fixed my inability to install the Windows update somehow, but that's about it. I also moved the game to my SSD after uninstalling everything and assumed that would fix it, but it hasn't. The crashing is less frequent but still happens randomly a few times a day only on this game, it seems. To answer your questions though-

- Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV? (e.g. Nvidia Control Panel, AMD etc.)
Yes, chrome, discord, and sometimes Spotify.

- Does this crash occur on more than one character?
I only have one character (that I use) so I wouldn't know.

- Were any system updates, or major driver updates, or changes made to the PC at the time of the crash?
As stated in my previous post, I had to download a Windows update at the time, which I couldn't and I had assumed was the cause of this. After fixing it, the problem still persists.

- Does this crash occur if the game is run in full-screen mode? Does the crash occur when alt-tabbing while in borderless or windowed mode?
I play in borderless windowed only. The crash occurs randomly. Sometimes I'm on the marketboard, crafting, switching worlds, or just walking around.

- Are there any error messages upon crashing? (If any)
Yes, I was getting the errors in my event viewer where I had posted in my original post. Since I fixed the Windows issue though, whenever my game crashes I don't get any more errors showing up there. The game just crashes to desktop and nothing shows up that it went wrong. I was never getting any issues from the game itself, though. Also in my original post, I showed that I was supposedly getting an error with something to do with ntdll.dll. I looked it up and it said this has something to do with corrupt drivers or windows or something, I'm not sure. But again, this was before. Now I'm not getting any errors but it's still crashing.

Here is the system information. I can include the applications section if needed but I'd rather not as it shows all my programs besides Final Fantasy and it seemed unnecessary.

which motherboard do you have? Because if i search for "BIOS 0902" then i get an "Asus Crosshair VI Hero". If so, then your BIOS is VERY old. I would update it first.

Couple of things I would try in this instance:

1. You mentioned it started following a Windows Update that didn't install well. This may have corrupted some files on your Windows installation. I would try a scan/repair on your Windows OS (if you haven't already done so).
You can do this in two ways:

- 1. Open a command prompt (elevated - run as administrator) and type "sfc /scannow" (no quotes) hit enter and let it do it's thing (may take a while). This will indicate if there's any issues with your system files that may be causing the crash. (It may find corrupted files it can't repair in which case try option 2).
- 2. Option two is DISM. Again, open an elevated command prompt window and type "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth" (no quotes) and let it do it's thing.

2. Another thing is try disabling any game overlays from Discord, Geforce/Nvidia, etc - these can sometimes cause games to suddenly crash out for no reason (especially if they share same key-bindings as the game).

It seems, that the 0902 BIOS was published on 2021/06/25. The newest BIOS is the 2001 version.
