They're probably expecting Dawntrail's launch to be a repeat of Endwalker or Shadowbringers in player activity. If it doesn't meet expectations they might as well reconsider.

I think they severely overestimated how many of those players during Endwalker launch would actually stay.
Since XIV had, up to that point, been slowly and organically growing they probably expected the same to happen this time, not taking into account the massive surge of new players wasn't the organic growth of the game but the unnatural spike caused by other MMOs having a meltdown.

Certainly didn't help that DC travel just enabled everyone to congregate on a single server pool and leave the others barren wastelands.

That's the rub, unfortunately. On Dynamis going somewhere else is just better in every way. So, how are you supposed to bolster a community of people who are used to leaving? I'm not dooming and glooming. This is a legitimate concern that SE isn't addressing. The fact that part two of the Dynamis expansion is just completely gone speaks louder than their silence. Unfortunately, it's Aether or bust. Honestly, bust is looking more appealing if you follow me.

I wonder if a cross-DC duty/party finder would fix this. I think they've said it's technically possible. That might be the way to save it...?

You can lead feedback but it's rather pointless when you use hyperbole and the feedback is non-constructive.

The game has plenty of content. I've got things I do every day in game.

Nor is the game dead. I see lots of other players online.

Trying being more specific about your issue. Do you feel like you don't get enough new content over the course of an expansion? Every MMORPG is like that. There's only so much the developers can create and release over a given time period. That's why we should have more than one game we play - something to fill in the content gaps and help prevent burnout even if we enjoy repeating the game's content.

What they said is that they know there is a need for one but it is not currently possible with how they have the game set up. They're trying to find a way to make it possible but can't estimate if or when it might happen.

The cloud servers could be part of the solution they seek if they're satisfied with what they saw during the testing this past week.

Removing that level of server identity would fix it. Because that's all DC traveling to x datacenter is doing. It's cross DC DF/PF but with extra steps. Removing the steps makes staying the best option because of retainers, FCs, LS, CWLS and etc. It would literally fix the problem. Then Dynamis wouldn't be such a dud of a pick. If anything, Dynamis would go from barren and empty to completely full because of two things. It's free to move here, and there's loads of houses. So it has two perks right off the bat. Now, one would go away faster than the other, and both are finite, but you get the drift.

Then, 4 more servers would sound like an excellent idea. As it is now, we are Dawntrail overflow parking. And no amount of optimism is going to change my mind on that.

That's a far stretch honestly. Just because I jump online to prevent auto demolition and sending off my submarines, doesn't mean I feel enjoyment.
And yeah, it used to be like that. I'd hop online and do stuff with friends, but even we end up playing other games than FFXIV. Would be cool to have more options to participate as a group, but sadly there isn't.

The game is in it's sluggish months. The time between .5X and up to expansion has always been a slow period. It's always been the same. But the real issue here is; until expansion it's going to be another 6months+. 6 month's repeating the same content over and over.

I think, I can fairly say that I've dipped in every piece of content in my 10 years of FFXIV. And I'm pretty much allowed to say I do not like every piece of content, nor does SE has to cater to me solely. But I can say, the amount of lasting content AND group activity content has decreased a lot.

So please dont tell me that there is "so much content to do", while I have done probably all of them. Eureka? ARR Relics? Bozja? Island Sanctuary? Extreme primals? Savage? Gathering? Crafting? Achievements? I'm not obliged to finish them 100% just to be allowed to say "more lasting content please".

I think it’s easy to say go do that and there's loads of this to do, but at the end of the day if you've grown tired of the food on your plate you're not going to eat it. Collectively, as players, most of us are currently bating around the peas in the mash potatoes if you get my drift. I'm still behind. 10 year vet as well, but I never finished Eden or the new one whose name escapes me. I'm finding myself playing less of the game than I ever have it it’s starting to annoy me that every FC I join or every player group I join doesn't want to actually play the game. And I'm tired of afking while I'm online due to boredom.
