game stuttering could be due to infinite loop.

Game is currently unplayable due to stuttering/lag.

I have use ProcessMon64 to monitor what is going on with ffxiv_dx11.exe and found that there is an infinite loop on the following:

    1) ffxiv_dx11.exe 7664 RegQueryValue HKLM\SYSTEM\Setup\PnpSetupInProgress NAME NOT FOUND Length: 16

    2) ffxiv_dx11.exe 7664 ReadFile E:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\game\sqpack\ffxiv\070000.win32.dat0 SUCCESS Offset: 429,966,848, Length: 1,024

    3) ffxiv_dx11.exe 7664 RegOpenKey HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceClasses\{4d1e55b2-f16f-11cf-88cb-001111000030}\Properties NAME NOT FOUND Desired Access: Query Value

This goes on in an infinite loop. ~3 times in a sec

kindly get your developer to investigate whats going on.

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It will be forwarded to the appropriate party. We apologize that the product/service you are referring to does not meet your expectations.

In the meantime, please try the following:
    - Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card and sound drivers (if applicable).
    - Please try lowering the resolution.
    - Please try running the game as an administrator.
    - Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
    - Please be sure that Final Fantasy XIV is installed to the C: Drive. (If Steam version, make sure game and Steam are installed on same drive)
    - Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
    - Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.
    - Reinstall game (If steam version, try uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and Steam)
    - Verify installation files (Steam)

Thank you once again for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!

To add, FF14 sometimes has issues when ran from a non-OS drive, which can sometimes cause crashes and errors.
Try installing the game client on your C drive (free up some space if need be) and see if that helps.

Also, the keys and processes you are seeing in a loop have to do with the USB HID system, aka anything plugged in to the USB port(s) that has something to do with user input, so mouse, keyboard, game controller, etc..
It is odd the the game client would scan for these every few seconds, instead of just at game start up, but there are other games known to do the same (Outriders is known to do this)
The "NameNotFound" may mean that what was expected to be plugged in either wasn't or is in itself having a connection issue.
