What…. Isnt every minor patch ment to come every second week and every major patch every second month? I think i read that once?

Major patches are every few months and the minor patches are every 4-8 weeks within a patch cycle
so for example:
6.4: 2023/05/23
6.41: 2023/06/19
6.45: 2023/07/18
6.48: 2023/08/08
6:5: 2023/10/03

Major patches are 4 months apart (excluding holidays). The minor patches are spread out through that 4 months.

The final patch is a bit different because the MSQ is split into two and then there is just a gap, not always as short as 4 months, before the expansion, so it can get very quiet in that time. They have over time tried to put all the old crossover events and moogle tome events around then to give people things to do.

Since 6.5 is the last major patch before the expansion, and the expansion is in the middle of next year, that is a very long time - over 7 months, so it is going to be very infrequent and mostly just the old crossover events and some new ones to fill the timeframe as I mentioned.

Probably closer to 5 and some change if they get back to their original scheduling. They said 6.55 will be around mid-January. Their old schedule would put expansion early access late June and then expansion launch early July. We won't know for sure until we get the final date.
